Monday, April 1, 2019 - April Fools?!?

I am not good at jokes, so April Fools Day doesn't really have any significance for me. Do any of you apply or receive April Fool pranks?

Not funny, but as I admitted yesterday, I'm pretty sure I have a freshman 15 to lose based on my clothes. And it took me approximately the same amount of time to acquire as it takes a college freshman. I'm going to start measuring and tracking today. Weighing needs to hold for a bit until I feel back in control enough.

Today, visiting SIL is leaving. We had a really good visit. The last two months have included a lot of visits and have been like a vacation. Back to reality. My other SIL leaves for home in 2 weeks. Most of our walking group is going home in that time period with only a few staying as long as we are (May 19). Two of them live here year round but take long vacations out of Florida in the summer.

Have a mood lifting Monday!

142.4 3# overnight- really? Good thing we have great mentors on this board- taking a clue from ocean- note the reading, take personal inventory, make needed adjustments, and carry on.

I'm not a big April Fools person, either so it is strange to me that one of my very early childhood memories is of sitting at the breakfast table (maybe aged 4-5?) and Mom announcing that Dad wasn't going to get out of the driveway due to a "flat tire---HOO-haaaa-heeeee---big joke---April Fools!!!!

I have a whole bushel basket of those types of memories- not accounts of what happened in the past, but rather--there, I'm right IN the experience again--that age in those clothes, sitting at that Formica table, early spring day in Michigan puzzling over just why that was some kind of funny. I hold these transportations very dear to my heart. Thanks Liz, for pushing the "play button" for me this morning.

Big girl advancement made in the reintroducing of foods movement. Baby spinach now seems to have joined the list of raw vegetables - which also include baby carrots and small zucchini! Small amounts at a time but am so grateful as there was a real doubt whether or not .... Unless my insides change their minds, crunchies have returned!

Hi all,

Hope everyone is off to a good Monday and that the April Fools pranks/jokes are kept to a minimum and are truly fun. The extent of my April fool was rolling over in bed this morning and saying "Happy April Fools."

Liza has found her voice over the past weeks and I'm going to have to begin working on her "talking". Looks like she is going to need a few lessons with a zap collar, which I hate doing, but she's leaving me no choice. You can see she is having such fun running and barking at passers by, but the only time she will stop barking is when I am physically present to remind the pack to "hesh up!" My brother's labradoodle on the other hand jus****ches everyone pass by on the trail with silent interest. Oh, well, I prefer my statuesque barking over sized terriers in the end.

Food, eating... Today the pre detox begins... I did decide that I should not hold off. The actual sugar/carb detox part won't begin for another week. This week is the prep work. Fun times! Prep work will include mental work, awareness of currently consumed foods, and being solid on the purpose of the detox. When I think about the deep I-can-hold-on-to-this-because-it-is-truly-meaningful reason for the detox, it's much harder than one would think. I have lots of 'reasons', but many of them seem pretty superficial when examined closely. Harumph.....

Well, if all went according to plan, Ann should be back home in Missouri and recuperating from her months in NOLA. Hoping we here from her soon. I sent her a little welcome home message, but haven't heard back yet. I'm sure she is wiped out from her adventures!

Today holds a Border Terrier for grooming, then evaluating two pups - one a Doberman, the other an Airedale from Canada. Need to get some house cleaning and shopping done today, too!

Greetings Dear Ones

Weight today: 115. LOL April Fool! Actually 155 (accidentally typed April Food). What is April Food anyway? Frozen stuff from last season? Nothing comes to mind that is ready in April.

Well the April Pizza is about gone. Have to cook some real food. Maybe lentil soup. Looks like it rained last night and its still cloudy.

Slept well last night and woke up feeling pretty good. Usually feel like crap when I wake up. Sure wish I could learn to wake up refreshed but at age 67 unlikely.

Kiln opens today and I should have a few goodies. Will be stopping at the gallery to organize some files for bill paying. And cut gallery checks tonight if I have all the data. Need to visit the clay store for supplies. Then do some scheduling.

Peps, glad you have some time off. Keep after Ann whose presence is missed here.

Bonnie150 thanks for the April Fool memories. I don't remember much except that in high school journalism we did an April Food newspaper - headline "East Takes State - and We Wish They Would Bring It Back!". We had lousy team sports.

April Fools makes me think of May Day. Did anyone do May Baskets - we did. My kind of holiday.

Thats about it for now. Need to move it to lose it. Diane S

Weight: I stepped on the scale. It isn't pretty and I'm not up for sharing it right now, but I'm not ostriching

My trainer switched her schedule so I go in the morning now. I'm not a morning person, but it's done!

So I made my Greek salad and it's delish!! I made it without dressing so it would last for half the week. Just add a little dressing and eat. Easy access to good food helps me somewhat to stay away from fast food/donuts. Here's a pic:

Looks tasty! What are the little round tan things? Not the chickpeas, but the tiny round things.
