Good morning!

I'm taking a mental health day- next to the last week of school and the 4th grade is off the deep end (yes, part of recovery was un-retiring). Ive been "playing " (instead of teaching) as a para with 10-11 year olds with IEP's this school year. Love it- except, geeze, end of the year with high schoolers (nuts as they were) did in no way prepare me for the shenanigans of elementary kiddos.

159.6 this morning. It has been a really long time since I've seen that glorious 5 number on the scale in the ten's place.

Liz- ha on the shoes...Hubby's old shoes only get as far as the back porch. Question: How many pairs of "I'll use them for gardening" shoes does a body with only two feet need?

Happy Happy Birthday, Paula. Celebrate without worry- You are not a year older than you were yesterday- only just one day older, so enjoy to your heart's content.

Getting ready to tear up the carpet and see what is underneath- yellow pine, I think- wonder if it can be brought back?

Rise above!

138.2! Birthday cake for breakfast - one of my favs!

The first round of Ben's family left this morning. They said their goodbyes last night. I can't imagine saying goodbye when you KNOW that is the last time you will see someone.

Ben's decline continues. He is sleeping most of the night and about half of the day. At first I just thought all of the hub bub from last week just tuckered him out, but now I'm thinking otherwise. All of his papers and projects from about 90 students are coming in for grading. I told him he needs to ask for help with the grading. As much as he doesn't want to ask for help, I just don't think he can do it alone!

Laundry, some house cleaning and maybe some scrapbooking today. I think I may take the boys out for su****onight.

Hope your healing goes well Cecily. Those pics were amazing. I can't believe you got over 11 pounds of skin removed!

Good morning everyone. It has been a very very long time since I have posted....perhaps 3 + years?

Happy Birthday Paula!

You are all doing so well. Sadly I have gained a lot of weight because lost my focus.

so if you don't mind will give a bit of back ground.

While I loved my job the stress became literally just too much when a very toxic manager was employed. In fact now everyone that was there when I was there have left and the turn over is staggering. The manager is pulling in the $$$ numbers and that seems to be all that counts to the limpid Board.

My husband died which has left a gigantic hole in my heart. After that a seemingly large rift developed within the extended family, which, as we know, is painful.

Was on a list for knee replacement but was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully it was caught very very early and was very small with only one lymph node involved, so went through all the subsequent treatment.

1 month ago had right knee replaced and all is progressing as expected, however have been too enthusiastic about walking etc and have pulled a medial ligament ( I think that is correct......on the inside of the leg) and that is giving grief. In bed, elevating said leg, icing, and champing at the bit to get on the move.

The 70 pound gain is slowly coming off. Have the knee surgery was a blessing in disguise as have totally lost my appetite and have lost 23 pounds. Going back to the basics which what have needed to do but some how lacked motivation. And hopefully when am more active the pounds will go.

My immediate family have all moved along on their life's journey so am rattling around in the house pondering the next move.

thank you for keeping this forum alive. So nice to know that everyone is doing well. Kairk ( now Peps) good for you for taking some time off in the summer. And for those who are carrying heavy burdens, please know that am walking alongside in support and sympathy.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Carbon so happy to see you, but sad to hear how tough times have been.

Thank goodness for good breast cancer outcome. Glad that your knee is replaced. Not surprised you over-did walking ;)

I am very sorry for the loss of your beloved husband. So very sorry.....those kind of hurts seem to keep on hurting.

Post when you can, you have been missed. For one thing, how do I know what Northern weather is coming my way if you don't tell me?

Greetings Peeps, Peps and Carbon!

148 today. I am eating reasonably well but just not moving enough. Dentist today and board meeting will not be helpful.

So much interesting stuff to read here today. Liz I hear you on the DH shoes. If Justice were a puppy he could "fix" them. My DH still is wearing the squeaky shoes - each shoe has a different sound. You would think it would go away after awhile but 2 mile dog walks each day are not fixing it.

Miss150 so glad you have joined our group. I bet those kids are indeed a hoot at this time of year. Good that you are enjoying the gig.

Carbon Carbon! So glad to hear from you. We have been wondering about you. I am very sorry that you lost your DH. So many life changes can be terribly stressful. Glad the new knee is on the way to working for you and wishing you the best.We hope you will stay in touch. Any bear sightings?

BB glad the travel with Becca is good and that you are all enjoying yourselves.

Well we got the new Bolt yesterday. Yikes, the thing is one giant computer! So many things to adjust and set. I am leaving it to DH to figure out. At least all the computer screen stuff is fairly intuitive compared to other stuff. It will take me awhile to even get in my radio stations. Can't decide if I am going to call it Buzz or Cupcake. Not sure yet if its a girl car or boy car.

Tee Hee Shel, another Hoodoo. Nobody who went to Humboldt State has not inhaled. But its good that medical benefits are being recognized. Now its become the magic cure all for everything! (except obesity). And yeah, retirement homes should be more like dorm life in the 70's. Except boo on the gang showers way down the hall.

Cecily relax at the recovery place and good for you for doing this.

Well off to brush my teeth for 20 min so they will think I do it right. But first more coffee. Diane S
