Some P.S. additions to my post above ...
Paula, congrats on reaching your normal BMI again. Shel, so sorry about your Aunt JoAnn; that's a terribly rough situation to be in. Liz, your hubby is so lucky to have old-time friends in the neighborhood. And you are, too. Shel, Diane, and Devon -- it would fun to see pix here of Shel's NoCal visitations. I hope they all happen for you guys. And to everyone else, I'm following your posts carefully, just not acknowledging so much lately.
DianeO, regarding my modified fika, there's not much modified yet, except that yesterday I did a 15-minute afternoon yoga session at 3:00, which believe me I need because I'm sitting around more these days instead of hopping up and down spoiling my husband as I was doing most afternoons. I'm planning to keep that up.
Oh! And I had a very welcome message last night from a smart friend here who invited me to a small, new book club that's forming -- of other smart folks. The only book club I'm currently in is through the local public library, and I'm underwhelmed by both the reading list and the quality of discussion that happens there. Very happy about this development and need to attract and create more of these interactions for myself. :)

When I go home to the Cape I'd like to find a book club like that!

Hi all! Haven't been checking in because not too much to say and I've felt so under the weather.
Speaking of weather, we've had some yucky weather. Freezing rain the past 2 days
38 week appointment today. Was asked about if I want to induce (because they'll allow that starting at 39 weeks) but I really feel I want her to come when she's good and ready.
I've gotten my freezer meals assembled! I have quite a stockpile. That's making me feel better. And slowly clothing is getting washed and things put away.
Sleep has been rotten. Man did I take that for granted. Now I seem to be waking up every 2-3 hours. No doubt my body is preparing me for having a baby.
Nugget is coming soon! So exciting!

Weight 165.8 (darn those knitting nibbles and dessert and me for scarfing them down!)
Congratulations on the BMI, Paula!
Liz, I have a lot of feelings about excessive drinking myself because of family members. I try not to judge or preach, but sometimes I can't help it. Our experiences shape our perceptions.
Shel, it sounds like your trip is taking shape! Northern CA is beautiful - I hope you have a great time and get to meet up with everybody.
Ann, I imagine you are a fantastic book club member to have. You always have such interesting insights here. Books can't be any different.
I'm heading out to my Dad's tonight to go see an ABBA tribute show preceeded by Mexican food. I was told it was ABBA, and the "tribute show" aspect was not clarified so I was more excited before the real situation was revealed. Hopefully it's not super hokey. But the people going are fun, plus spending time with my Dad is always good! And Fergie likes my Dad's house more than being home (aka "pool"), so it's fun for him too.
BB, Congrats on finishing your freezer prep! I can't imagine how it is to try to sleep with a tiny human vying for space with all your internal organs. It can't be easy!
Happy Friday all!
And here's another unexpected P.P.S. ....
I didn't get to swim this morning. When I got to the womens' locker room, I said hello to my cousin who also swims there. But she didn't respond in any fashion -- was just staring off into space. Short version: She was having a stroke. Anyway, I had someone call 911 and just held her. Then her sister (another cousin, obviously) arrived, and after 911 showed up and did their thing, off we all went to the local hospital's Emergency Room.
I hung around for about an hour with both cousins, then left to run errands. I just got home, but haven't heard yet from the non-patient cousin what her sister's final diagnosis is.
But jeez, Louise! When the nurses were asking my patient cousin her height and weight, she said 5'3" and 262 pounds. Man, I feel for her! What an awful situation to be in at age 67, which is 5 years younger than me.
Without WLS, that could have been me today. Right there. Stroking out.

Gratitude abounds. Sometimes I feel less-than for needing WLS. Then, I see this sort of thing happening and so glad it was available, covered by insurance, and I took the leap.
I am sorry that your cousin is going thru this, I hope she has a speedy, full recovery.

It's got to say something about my emerging resilience this week that your comment made me laugh out loud.
Thank you! :)
