VSG Maintenance Group
Tuesday October 17
Weight 116.5, calories 968 (up .5 from 2 days ago). I'm doing a no carb few days to "detox" from bad carbs. Unfortunately it backs up the system somewhat. Yes Devon, I know this isn't sustainable but it actually does help me keep the bad carbs lower afterwards. I'll add back the good ones like veggies at the end of the week.
I'm getting more and more cranky at work (17 work days left). Yesterday I was really tired, so when my former boss decided to take credit for something I did (as he always does with everyone), I got po'd and told him that I would back out of the negotiations. He doesn't have a clue what he is talking about, so it should be interesting how he gets out of that. Unfortunately he is a wily BS artist, so he probably will figure out how to get me or someone else with the proper knowledge back into the discussion.
Tonight is our Alzheimer's support group meeting (men with it in one group and wives/partners in the other). They are good but we have to leave by 5 to get there and don't get home until around 8. It really messes up the dinner hour. DS is home and got some fresh halibut so I'm hoping he will cook it for us before or afterwards.
Have a Tenacious Tuesday!

Weight stable in lower end of range. Hard frost last night but seven days of warmer, sunny weather forecast! I have to stick close to home tomorrow, anticipating delivery and construction of our new shed, just in time to get ready for winter. Hopefully, the lawn mower will rotate in and we won't have that AND the snow blower in the garage. I'll have a work counter and shelves for gardening in the shed too.
Devon...you need to carve out some time for yourself ! I liked your plan of blocking out time November forward, and protecting it.Shel- anxious to hear about your appointment. Ann, thinking of you and DH. Paula... Did you survive your camping trip ? Diane...glad you are home from your trip to organize Pat's affairs. BB... enjoying your pregnancy insights and updates ! It's hard to believe how much has changed in the 30 years since my DDs! Liz...will you have an active support group when you return to Florida ? Does DH remember the condo ? Dave.. pictures of those beds, please !

Good question about Florida and support groups. I have to look into that! DH remembers the condo - not some of the specifics but definitely the concept (and is looking forward to going). He keeps forgetting when we are leaving or that we at stopping in Charleston on the way.

OK, so food-wise, yesterday was just plain weird! Had my usual skinny latte and protein shake for breakfast, but no lunch, and only 2 veggies at dinner -- with a lovely ice cream on the drive home, a glass of wine before dinner, and some chocolate truffles after dinner. It was one of those crazy days; I was gone from 8 am - 5pm to The Big City (2+ hours away) for my monthly shrink session (I continue to be incredibly grateful for that resource!) and ran lots of errands.
And then SCORE!
All my life I've wanted to own a classic Burberry trench coat (the "Sandringham" model), but it's hard to justify what they cost new. http://bit.ly/2zv8Ht1 Yesterday, while trying on clothes at my favorite clothing consignment boutique, I asked a saleswoman if they ever got Burberry coats for resale, and she said yes, but rarely. Twenty minutes later, she came over and said, "You were just looking for a Burberry, right? Well, someone just walked in with two of them!" And one of the coats was the Sandringham model and in my size! What are the bloody odds? I bought it for a quarter of what I'd have paid retail. Folks, I think it's time for me to buy not one, but TWO lottery tickets!
Today's theme: Invite good luck.

Ann, I forgot to comment on the Burberry coat! What a score better yet is how it happened! Invite good luck. Love it.

Weight just under 150 , this is getting fricking ridiculous. I started out with such good intentions yesterday and did fairly well until I got home from work, then I just went off the rails. Funny thing is....going off the rails still put me under 1,800 calories...I remember many a "diet" where that was the daily goal! Lol!
Plan for today is to remember that hunger is not an emergency! I should probably think about doing a carb detox myself Liz. Carbs/sweets are for sure my downfall!
Camping weekend was great, especially since we got to stay in a lodge instead of tent camping in the rain! We were outside quite a bit and did get wet, but at least we were able to go back inside and get dry and warm.
Ann, you are indeed lucky! Good find in that coat...it is a gem!
While I hiked in the frickin' snow I thought about you and your lodge! So glad you had it, can not imagine a WEEKEND in the cold and rain.
Would watching a sugar documentary help with your sweet tooth? Just brainstorming.
