Okie doke, I'll get things rolling this Saturday morning.
Yesterday's 8 V/Fs came from cherry tomatoes (lots), baby carrots (lots), butter lettuce, spinach, and blueberries (lots).
We plan to have a quiet weekend here. I'm going to cook good food, and we'll play weekend crosswords. This year we've gotten so good at crosswords that the Monday, Tuesday and even Wednesday ones are no longer challenging. So we ordered Chess for Dummies and a chess board, which arrived yesterday, and will start to tackle "the game of kings."
Over here, we are breathing deeply.

Good Morning, All !
Back home and trying to catch up on EVERYTHING. I've just quickly browsed and I'm missing many pieces, but....
Ann...One day at a time is right ! I am so impressed by your focus and forward direction. So many hugs and positive thoughts to you and DH !
Paula...good to see you here ! I'm with your determination to hike Maui !
Liz... Consulting on your own terms makes for an excellent transition ! Negotiate terms that work for you.
Dave... So sorry about beloved dog. Your projects sound therapeutic.
Devon... Hope you get a break from the smoke. Asthma is no fun ! I totally relate to the computerized calendar v. hands on hard copy ! While I liked the ease of accessing calendar by phone, I have to be able to add stickers ! I now take screen shots on my phone intermittently.
We spent the week in Old Orchard Beach Maine, at a "camping resort". It was a combination of permanent and seasonal sites and "Villa cabins" as well as shorter term residents and tenters. We were in a king bed, efficiency kitchen Villa, with a gas fireplace and outdoor deck , BBQ, and firepit. That is about as "campy" as I can do ! Sadie enjoyed it, but it will be weeks before I get the sand out of everything.
We were on the move every second, and I ate fish and vegetables for most meals. Beyond my wildest dreams, I lost 1.2 pounds ! Gotta love my sleeve !!

Keep on doing that deep breathing Ann. I'm guessing sleep may have been elusive (early post)?
Weight (BIL in room)? Calories 907.
I've been thinking about Ann's V/F charts. When I eat almonds, they sometimes push my calories quite a bit over my usual average (I have a problem sticking with one serving). However they rarely push my weight up, in fact sometimes they seem to do the opposite. I have started to suspect it is the fiber in them as they seem to act a bit like a laxative for me. Similar to the V/F fiber effect maybe?
Today I am meeting a friend for coffee to talk to her about Bariatric surgery (her daughter is considering it). I already sent the OH link and suggested doing some reading there. Anyway, I'm kind of glad to have an excuse to have coffee as she just moved here fulltime and it would be nice to set up a routine. Unfortunately no one can stand her husband (including her, but that's a long story), so figuring out how to get together without him has been a challenge.
BIL stayed over because he is looking at apartments in the area this morning. He is the one who has been coming once or twice a week to take DH on outings. Speaking of which, DH and I went to a pirate museum yesterday. Really interesting! It was about a real ship (Whydah) which sank off of Cape Cod in the early 1700's and the artifacts and reconstructed history about the ship and her crew collected since she was discovered in 1984.
Have a satisfyingly productive or relaxing Saturday (whichever suits you)!

Did that oven-grilled Portobello mushroom with feta cheese and grilled sweet yellow/red/orange peppers today (drizzled with olive oil) with sliced red/green/yellow sweet cherry tomatoes on toasted whole wheat bread and mayo. Left off the avocado today. Mmmmm!

Oh, how gorgeous that is! Too bad I hate tomatoes and mushrooms! Low cal staples and I just despise them. Mushrooms taste like dirt to me - and yes my boyhood memories involve the taste of dirt! You know the phrase - Dirty hands, dirty face.... that was me under 5 years old - always playing in the yard with my hands in the dirt!
I understand. The heart and the mouth love what the heart and mouth love.
My list of Uh-Uh Foods is short: turnips, routebagas, and chitlings (two foods that grow in the dirt and one food full of "dirt").

Still no N&Y since September 26th at 7 am. The green shakes seem to be controlling the cravings. I still want it. Mostly when I am tired. Such a weird craving.
King bed pedestal installed. The full and queen with the finish on. Maybe install on Wednesday.
Productive day. Just like I like it.
More Later, David

For the protein powder i'm Using warrior blend pea protein. But everything else is just veggies and fruit in a vita mix. I mix a whole pitcher full and drink on in the early morning for breakfast and then one around 11 for lunch. I did this before WLS and was reminded of it when I listen to the owner of FastCap in his book lean health. He does not use protein powders but he just adds nuts instead.
