Weight dropped by 2.6 today. Sugar induced water retention gone. Detox is proceeding without mu*****ident or struggle. Perhaps because it was a short foray back into sugar (basically only 1 day) I'm not having much difficulty.

My sad story of yesterday: For months and months I have been looking forward to the opening of a new Whole Foods that is only a 5-7 minute drive from home. The other two are 25 and 40 minutes away in afternoon traffic. The Whole Foods had its "grand opening" yesterday so Ron suggested we go check it out. This store is done in the style of the company's new concept (Whole Foods meets Costco) of open ductwork, polished concrete floors, brightly lit, loud music and an echo chamber. All that I can deal with, but they did away with the deli counter, the bakery, the hot food counter, and the cheese shop. Instead, Whole Foods has created a Mega Food Bar. The selection of prepared proteins was minimal (4 items) and the quality of the food was miserable - so very, very disappointing. Ron even suggested we go somewhere else to get dinner, but it was late and I was in no mood to go somewhere else. I am a big fan of Whole Foods so saying that I would have enjoyed a meal from the Burger King down the road is quite something, but it's true. A crappy ass Whopper would have been superior to the food I got at our new Whole Foods. Boooooooooooooo!

Now the horrible thing is that I got unreasonably upset because the food was so much "less than" what I had hoped and anticipated. I mean I was angry that the quality was poor and the prices were reflective of high quality food and that this is what I was going to eat for dinner. Those emotions illustrated once again how NOT NORMAL I am around food. The silver lining is that I understood all of this while it was happening and was able to work my way through. Gotta love this journey of mine.

I think WF store angst is  common even among the normies. Is it branded as a "365" store?

Nope. I checked to be sure. They are opening a 365 on the other side of town sometime in 2017-2018.

Greetings Great Ones

132.5. Slept late today because I don't have to be anywhere until the dentist in a couple of hours.

Glad you are doing well Paula. Bet that shower felt good.

Gosh Kairk, what is wrong with Whole Foods management? You should write them and tell them whats wrong with their new store. We are lucky to have a locally owned Natural Foods store that just opened store #2 near our house. Nice alternative to Safeway and such. Haven't really explored the deli yet.

Stayed up late watching the Cubbies win the WS. We are not big baseball fans but it was fun to see the underdog finally win. And it was an exciting game. But I had no desire to stuff hot dogs in my face. My condolences Cleveland fans. Hmm, just remembered I have some little smokies that I bought for Halloween and forgot to serve. Will check calorie count. Might be tonight's dinner.

Then I stayed up later working on payment issues for the art gallery. Hope I get it right or there will be some cranky artists.

Dave good to hear from you. Sorry you are having med struggles. Hard to get the balance right and the side effects can indeed be strange. Been there done that. Thinking of you. Check in when you can.

Joey, you might keep fresh flowers on your desk if you can. It has a calming effect. Law offices are pressure cookers  and remember that the lawyers have a ton of pressure on them from clients.

Take care all in this season of food excess.  Diane S
