Good Morning !

140.4 up a pound. I am measuring and logging everything. I have been totally on plan. I did not wear the compression stocking yesterday (clashed with suit), leg is swollen, and start the Lasix today. The benefit of knowing exactly what I've put into my body is that I know I am dealing with a water issue. My old tapes were activated when I stepped on the scale this AM. "If you gain a pound in a day for doing everything you are supposed to do, you might as well eat what you want and at least have a reason!". I was able to stop that tape with firm data based logic. I'll work through this edema issue and have a weight reward on the other side.

"Food for Thought" is about the power of not being alone ... being part of a support system with like minded people who totally get it. Thank you for being there !

Let's all have a great day, with our eyes on the prize !

Good morning.  Up early and feeling slightly flu-ish.  I'm sure (hoping!) it's just a cold after being in such tight quarters with people on the plane.  I really can't afford to miss work.  But not feeling so good.

Scale 161.8 today.  Woohoo.  Goodbye five-alarm overweight weight.  And may I never see you again.  I had thought that it was impossible to gain 2 full pounds over the weekend and attributed my gain to water weight.  I believe I was right.  And Diane, I agree with you on weighing and keeping track of food for this very reason.  I still had a bit of a meltdown yesterday, but knowing the truth kept me from going hog-wild off plan.

Today's scheduled eats:

B:  1/2 everything bagel, poached egg, coffee with creamer

S:  Salted caramel greek yogurt

L:  Leftover chicken and bacon innards from yesterday's breadless sandwich chopped and atop lettuce with ff ranch

S:  ?

D:  I'm thinking something cajun with it being Mardi Gras.  Like chicken with okra and tomatoes.  But I'm also feeling a little tired of Cajun food at this point.

Good luck today everybody

Good morning everyone,

Diane, I hope your water issues resolve soon for you. It must be painful as well.

Blondebrown - looks like you are heading in the right direction - good for you. I like the awareness that everyone seems to have in this group. I need to get me some. Just all continuously challenge me to challenge myself Thank You!

153.8 - up 3.8 lbs after two weeks of holidays and basically carb eating. I am confident now that I am back on track that the 3.8 lbs will come off quickly. I think it is carb and water bloat, from 10 hours of planes, buses and cars and no walking and very little water to drink over the past two days. I am grateful that I had taken 5lbs off prior to my holidays or else it would have been much worse. Like I said I think this will be off in a few days and then I need to lose the next 3 lbs to put back to my red line. It just shows that exercise is not the only answer, I walked 8 to 10 miles everyday and stayed pretty much within calorie range. But and here's the BUT I ate carbs mainly because food in Cuba is - well I just won't eat their meats - I don't think they are cooked enough. So food composition matters hugely for me.

Back at work and I am going to see if I can get in a workout at lunch today. I have a storage room at work that I will be spending the afternoon cleaning moving boxes packing and rearranging so that might end up being my workout; I will have see how my day goes here, after work I am picking up my dog from the sitters so a busy day all in all today.

Have a great day everyone Hugs!  Lorna

Welcome home! 3.8 pounds up is nothing in a 2 week period! In the old days it would have been much worse, don't you think? You'll have that off pretty quickly!

121.6. Going down, down, down. That is okay, I ordered our favorite high fat, high calorie ice cream for a special Valentine's treat. It comes delivered on dry ice. $10 a pint plus shipping. We get it for something special every couple of years. I ordered only 1 pint in my favorite flavor, the rest will be for hubby and the boys.

Still needing to take pain meds but better controlled each day. Still pretty much couch sitting with a puppy or two on my lap. Blood pressure has been really low. Close to passing out a few times. This morning it was 76/42. Time to increase fluids and salt some.

Missing my exercise routine! It will come. Patience is the name of the game.

Sounds like overall everyone is doing well. Let's keep that trend going.

Diane, it has taken me a while, but I've finally come to understand that sometimes we retain water just on account of because! (Basically, our bodies know something we don't know about the inflammation going on inside, is my guess...) Glad you were able to stop the tapes. That's not easy!

200.6 today. Ooooooooo..... I'm getting close. Focus, focus..... Sometimes in the past I have sabotaged just before getting to a goal. Funny how some of us do that. You know that "I'm so close a little treat won't hurt anything" rationalization! Not this time. No sireeee! I just might make my mini goal yet.

Wonderful to see Shrinking Sarah pop in yesterday.

Food on point yesterday and got a great workout in. Started back doing squats. The left quad seemed no worse for wear. Yay!

Paula, your post reminded me today of how I felt as a new maintenance person when others who were in maintenance kept losing and I was easily staying stable and even struggling a bit to not gain and secretly wishing I was still getting thinner and thinner just like some of those people. Of course, I wasn't eating to get thinner and thinner.

Yes, let's all have a great day. Diane, I'm keeping my eye on my prize. Sooooo close....
