178.8 - Down almost 5 lbs this week and I'm trying to grasp why... but I can really feel the difference as well - I was just complaining that I felt "fat" and obviously I must have been bloated and it fell away this week.

My main change this week was to change my morning food consumption.  For breakfast for quite some time I was just having a ****tail of supplements, the main two are two kinds of fiber and Amazing Grass - a vegetal powder that gives you a lot of good veggie nutrients, which I feel I need a boost on.  I also mix in 5g of creatine mono  for workout support, and I dump my mix of probiotics in there... I'm currently rotating 5 different high-end probiotics to get a variety of gut bugs.  I've been mixing that with water and having it for breakfast.

This week, in a further experiment in gut bug feeding, instead of water I used a blend of 50% yogurt and 50% kefir plus a few oz of frozen strawberry and banana.  Put all of it in a blender and it made a nice smoothie - much more palatable than the watery sludge I was making.

Side effect?  That's been the main change and 5 lbs fell off...

The only other thing is that I've had a pretty hard workout schedule so I've bumped up my carbs (gluten free bread as toast prior to workout).  I've burned it all off during the workout, and I've done that before, so I don't think it had much effect either way.

it will be interesting to see what happens next. I'm hitting the road again on Sunday night - London for 5 days then vacation in France for 10.  I won't have a blender, but I should be able to mix everything with kefir in my shaker bottle... and get strawberry flavored kefir.

The experimentation continues!

Morning everyone.

Well done!!!  5 pounds gone.  Plus you are keeping up the nutrition.

Down another pound so now 9 above goal. Getting to where I was last week before went on the biscuit binge.      Amazing how much better I feel if don't eat bread products.   So why don't I remember that?

Have a good one.

The victories posted above --so encouraging.  Good for you!  Jub, you're back in the groove- feeling good on the inside, and working it on the outside.  Homemade biscuits are the devil- way to stay far back of them.  Good girl!

149.0 up two #s from yesterday- took an inventory, and there is no reason for it, so I log it (this is the kind of thing that would lead me to justifying the "so-called" weight gain with lots of eating--not now---staying the course and expect the mystery weight to disappear. Yep, I'm calling  this Evil Scale Shannanigans.  Have a good weekend, folks.

House cleaning today. My son does his last 2-hour drive with the instructor today. Just get some **** done.

Tom, I want 5 lbs to fall off. Maybe, I'll have to tinker with my food consumption - but it will have to wait until Monday.

I've been working hard on experiments with gut bacteria... maybe it's just that it's really starting to kick in after a 3-4 months.  I've read that as you rebuild the gut flora you can actually gain 3-5 pounds just in the weight of the extra bacteria (ewwww!)  but 100 trillion of anything will weigh something!  Once they're working well as a team, then better digestion and internal chemical production kicks in and then you can head the other direction with body fat reduction, etc.

I'm interested to get my BF% checked again as it's possible I went up a few pounds due to gut bacteria remodeling, but actually dropped in BF... only a DXA scan will tell the story...

On my way! Made goal #1 yesterday which was to get back down to my post-op tummy tuck weight of 173.8. The next goal is to get to my low of 162. With spring and summer approaching it should be a lot easier than in the winter when I don't move very much outside of going to work and back.......in a car.

have a great day!

forgot to weigh today - had to go back and do it after starting coffee and being dressed. i am calling it 120. last night ate a big blob of peanut butter. i swear i always gain a pound when i do that. oh well.

jub, interesting about your 5 pounds. good deal.   my doctor always told me to increase protein to lose weight faster. do you think your new breakfast is higher protein? he also thinks you should get 30 3 protein within an hour after you get up.  gag - i can't do that.  anyway, good job. have fun in france.   diane

115.8. That's down a pound and it feels like a much more respectable number.

The weather is finally improving so this may be the weekend we get our motorcycles out!
