Have you "Stalled" Successfully today?

Just making fun of the miss use of the word........

But really...... how is your "stall" going ????

Been stalled for well over a year now (in maintenance for 18 months but I kept losing even after) and all is well.

I did have 'stalls' during loss, but none of them longer than a few weeks. When I see someone saying they've been stalled for a month or more I always am a little more skeptical.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

I think it's called a "stall" before you get to goal--at least, that's what I told myself last November when I stalled for 8 months. Funny thing was, when I look back, it seemed more like maintenance. Hmm....

I find it exasperating how people talk about stalls including:

I've been stalled for 3 days... no, it's not a stall if the scale doesn't move every day.

I've been stalled for months ... no, it's not a "stall" if it's been months - that's not losing any more because you are eating as many calories as you are burning

Stalls are inevitable... not really. They are common but not everyone has them and sometimes they are sign you need to change things up and not just the scale not moving when you really are losing.

Help, I'm 3 weeks out and I didn't lose any weight last week. Tell me what I should do differently! And then people do. As if someone who is eating 400 calories a day and weighs over 200 pounds isn't losing weight even if the scale doesn't show it.

Just trust the process and your weight loss will pick up again! ... um, it's not magic. If you are eating too much junk, not tracking your food, not getting enough protein/water/exercise and eating as many calories as you burn, your weight loss won't just magically start up again without you *changing something*.
