HELP: need back on track
Hello everyone its been foever since I posted on OH. Im 18 months postop and have done terrible in last 6 months. Actually I have put on 10 lbs. Didnt think that would be possible. Many reasons for this to be sure. I quit getting on here for support I think is my main reason. Support groups here are all about bypass so noone to really talk to about sleeve issues. I have never had any problems but feel myself wanting to graze and eat crap. Part of this is due to working night shift I believe. There other is I know I dont come close to drinking enough fluids. My labs are good and physically I feel great. Even though I admit just gaining 10 lbs back has my hips hurting which is amazing to me that 10lbs alone can do that. Last fall I was walking 3 miles 4x week and now not at all.
So the big question how do you refocus. I think im more upset and depressed with myself now then I ever was before I lost weight. Its like I went through all this for nothing. I am much more conscious now of my physical appearance then I ever was before. Today I told myself I was starting over. so heres what I have eaten
breakfast.: coffee/about 4 cups.. gotta curb this I know
midmorn: 6oz milk with scoop unjury
lunch: approx 2 ounces ham
midaft: 6 oz milk with scoop unjury
Im ready for any advice you want to give. I want to lose 10 lbs this month and begin again.

What about dense protein? Actual food is more satisfying than protein drinks and coffee. Have some protein along with your coffee. 2 ounces of ham may not be enough this far out. Have you tried 3 ounces plus a little veggie? Seems like the carbs must be getting to you, for a weight gain of ten pounds.
Exercise is important. Start small and try to work up to what you were doing a year ago. It may also help your back pain and help to strengthen your core.
It must seem very overwhelming right now. Pick one thing to work on this week, then next week, try something additional. Developing habits takes some time and cannot be done all at once.
JMHO,
Gail
Also, ten pounds this month may not be realistic or even healthy this far out. When you lose weight that quickly, lean muscle mass goes along with some fat and fluids.

Hi, This group has existed for about a year and if you scroll through the prior threads you will find many who have gotten off track and asked for and received lots of good advice. Its worth going through and finding these posts and the excellent responses. I agree that you need more in the way of dense protein to feel full and a few veggies for good measure. But you have already done the most important thing which is to make a new commitment. YOu will get there. Diane
I think it depends on what your getting back on track from, if you have gone back to all carbs then the 5day pouch test maybe helpful to you to refocuss .. or if you really have not strayed to far then going back to basics with mainly protein meals maybe enough.
for me i tried climbing back on track for awhile with no luck so i red did my program minus the mushies as i did not see a need for them...
The exercise is a great step too.. you can do this i regained over 20lbs and took it off so im sure youll be able to as well.
good luck.
