Brother has a date!

wish i could get my hubby to do this. I brought it up with my brother by making one call and telling him I wasn't going to nag and I was only going to bring it up once but I would feel remiss in not telling him how life changing this has been. Different with hubby since he sees you daily and sees how much it has changed your life. My brother is far away so it was different.

Anyway, if you solve the hubby riddle, let me know. its my next mission.   Diane

I'm so happy for your brother! If your hubby is willing to talk with me, I can see if I can talk to him about the topic. Sometimes it is easier to hear from someone else who isn't your spouse or family member.

Oh Diane, this is wonderful news.  I know I have mentioned before that I have a SMO brother as well.  But he just won't do this.  My heart hurts for him as I see him struggle to walk and just get around in general.  He has seen my success.  But alas, he's just not there mentally and I don't know if he ever will be.  But I'm so glad your brother is taking the step.  Somehow I think it's harder for men to have elective surgeries.

yep, he seemed to warm up the the idea pretty quickly once it was explained. So many people think that wls is just the RNY or the band. Not sure what made him decide. Maybe he was just "fed up"  LOL. Actually I think diabetes and sleep apnea had a lot to do with it.  So maybe we will get one more guy poster on OH. Can always use them.  Diane

That's so exciting, Diane!  I want so badly for my younger brother to have the surgery, but with lots of health issues for both he and his wife, they just can't do it.  I pray for the day that he can have it too!  You sure will be wnderful support for your brother.

Oh sweetie,  I'm so happy for both of you.  I know how hard it is to see someone struggle when you know it can be resolved so easily.   This route is so much easier than continuing to get bigger and sicker.  I'm just so pleased for you both  :o) jeani
