A Big Day for Me
Ok, so some time ago I decided to treat maintenance phase like weight loss phase in that I would set goals from time to time so I was always working on maintenance and thereby always on a mission and less likely to stop being accountable and slide back into bad habits. So far thats been an effective approach even though its not the ideal of intuitive eating and takes some compulsiveness in tracking food and such.
So it was six months ago today that I got to my ideal weight of 125 lbs which was below my surgeons goal which I met about 8 months ago. So I set in my goal section that I would weigh no more than this at 6 months and at one year.
So here I am at the 6 months and have met this goal by weighing 120.5. My weight would always be pretty steady but when I would take a trip is when those couple of extra pounds would drop. I can't stand the thought of trying to gain a couple on purpose as I suspect they will come back someday and doctor ain't worried about it.
Anyway, today marks meeting the first of what I hope are many many lifelong maintenance goals which are every six months still being at or below 125. I use the goals section of my OH page to set these and encourage others to do the same.
Now if only I could get some regular exercise in it would be good, but as my hands heal and spring progresses I am hoping to get a lot of gardening time in.

Way to go Diane !!!!
A six month "Stall" !!!!
Seems like in WL it was a series of short goals....weekly, monthly......
When Dr.C told me "Stop" losing weight and "Hold" that weight for a year.......
It seemed kind of overwhelming because it was a long term goal......
I can't even imagine wearing the same size clothes for a solid year...I don't think that has ever happened before!!!
Congrats.... will be looking for the same post from you 6 months from now!
SW 338lbs. GW 175lbs. Goal in 11 months. CW 148lbs. WL 190lbs.

Thanks for the encourgement Frisco. Yep, we are all in a stall for the rest of our lives. But thinking of it in these six month increments seems to help me keep it doable instead of thinking of it as " don't gain any weight for , oh, say the next 30 YEARS!!!'
And yeah, we all have friends that wear clothes that are 10+ years old and I just can't fathom that either but I am sure hoping that in 1 year or 10 years I can still fit the sparkly a$$ jeans and the cool vsg maintenance group shirt. Ok, I am going to express this as more than a hope. Its going to be a mission and in a year and 10 years its gonna be mission accomplished except I won't be landing on an aircraft carrier. But with my newfound freedom from blubber I may be doing some wild off the wall thing. Thats the beauty of all this.

You are so right about the clothes. It was very odd and wonderful all at the same time this spring season to be able to wear clothes from last year. That has never, ever, ever happened in my life.
The other day I purchased a dress for my daughters wedding next March and I'm not the least bit worried about it fitting 10 months from now...I know it will!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.
size 8, life is great
Thanks Elina. Yep, have a glass of that great Fieldbrook Il Montagio wine! I think there was an extra bottle.
And while I hope to help others by setting an example, I am not entirely altruistic as by putting myself out there complete with weight, issues and such, I make my progress and status visible and therefore any failures visible. The peer pressure/humiliation factor helps me keep at it. I am sure this works for all of us which is why many of us keep hanging around here. And I have a few vsg friends who have sort of dropped away lately and while I hope they are just living fun healthy lives I worry that they are backsliding some and maybe not in a good place.
So if you can think of anyone who has been away for awhile, send a pm and tell them they are missed. Might help someone on the edge get it together. Or just learn some fun stuff.
So everybody drink a toast to sparkly a$$ jeans! Diane
