Doing a little experiment...

I'm one of the obsessed ones, that uses an online tracking system. I need to do this, to keep myself accountable and mindful for what goes into my mouth. Since I prepare my breakfast and lunch the night before, I can enter those things into my log the night before. I also weigh and measure my food, but it has become a habit and I don't really mind doing it, if it helps to keep me on track and successful.

Good luck with your experiment!!! My motto is: "Whatever works, do it." Some people don't need to be obsessive about it, but I do.

Research has shown that people who journal their food can lose twice as much weight as those who do not. Also, people that are successful at long term weight loss, journal their food, as well as exercise for an hour/day at least 5 days/week. I am trying to get up to 5-6 days/week.

Yep, losing weight and maintaining the loss, involve hard work and mindfulness.

I can't wait to see it either.  I've always wondered how close intuitive eating coincides with counting.  I do a little bit of both...but mostly just keeping track in my head.  I've got accounts with every online tracking journal there is...never can remember my user name or password to any of them.  lol

Fawn I cannot wait to see your results...I am an on again off again tracker...and mostly because I just hate to do it. I use myfitnesspal and it says I am consistantly eatting 800-900 calories and under 40 carbs per day, and about 90 grams of protein per day. SO I am curious about your results.

Oh cool, I can't wait to see your results.  I have never tracked a darn thing but protein.  I just keep a running tally of that in my head...never have written anything down and probably never will.  I put my anal-ness into my gym routine.

That's because I didn't quite finish the thought...

We are about to write and log because we don't run around like chickens with our heads cut off, we still have our heads on...makes it easier to SEE what we are eating =)
