poll: how many are not trying to lose?
I have been at or below goal since about 7-1/2 months after surgery, and maintaining or loosing for a good 2 years now. I did gain a few pounds over the holidays, which I had never done since my surgery, so technically I'm wanting to lose those, although I'm still way below my goal. I just want to stay vigilant and not have any regain. Luckily, I went back to my regular schedule, and I'm down almost 2 lbs! I guess it was water weight:)
Great Topic, PetMom, I am one who wishes to lose no more weight. I got to goal of 135 in October and bought a lot of new clothes. Didn't weigh for a month as I was out of town but thought I was eating extra. Came home and had lost another 5. Lost a couple more on another trip and a couple with this cold. So down to 122. I am not too worried as I am at BMI 20.8 and at ideal insurance co weight for first time in entire life. But i do want to stop this even though I know there may be a little rebound in a year or two. The $160 jeans are now baggy. Dietician says to have an extra protein drink each day (blech) and to drink 1% milk instead of skim and eat nuts. Am doing these things. I think i need to get more calories in earlier in the day as i don't tend to get hungry until midday or so and don't eat until then. Will see surgeon in a few weeks and see what he says, but probably will say don't worry about it, assuming labs are ok. So I am just gonna make another batch of my favorite cinnamon almonds and do what i can. I still weigh pretty much daily and journal all my food. diane
I'm 2 years out as of next week and am trying not to lose anymore, but maintain. Boy is it tricky. Thank God I am an exercise Nazi and have been for 15 years. It makes things easier for me. I haven't missed a date with the gym (except when I had plastics recently) in years. The activity allows for a few more indulgences although I eat properly 95% of the time : )

I also wanted to add that I am a carb eater and always have been. Good carbs of course, not mac n cheese or pizza n' such, but small amounts of potatoes, corn, brown rice, oats, fruit, veggies, whole grain breads... I am lucky that I am not particularly sensitive to them and do not get cravings.

I want to be you when I grow up! I do carbs, mostly good carbs, but I eat too much and I don't exercise.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

size 8, life is great
I am maintaining. Not trying really, it has been basically just living for me the past year and a half.. I will be happy that I am still around here if it ever stops being easy though!
I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!
"People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within." - Ramona L. Anderson
I am maintaining with the caveat that I always get a bit fluffy this time of year when my training falls off. It happened last year and i freaked out but it came right off when I started heavy training again. I'm trying not to freak out this year but I'm also not happy with getting a bit of love handles so I'm going to try to go down 5 pounds and make that be the new top of my range.
As for low carbs making you have bigger fluctuations from water retention, that definitely doesn't happen to me. I have a range that fluctuates by about 4 pounds max and it doesn't swing more than 1-2 pounds in a day.
