Why did we post the pic?   Because Ira took a picture of me that I could not believe.   The pic of me in purple is the latest and greatest!   Feel free to add an album of your pics if nothing more so you can see what you don't see in the mirror>

Hoping to make this group our...

While we are having group meetings once a month, we are hoping to make this on-line group a homebase for people to catch up on what is happening to others in the group, verify meeting dates and times, etc.

If you have anything to post, please feel free to do so.  Ira and I are working hard to keep information up to date.  If your surgeon is coming to our area for a information seminar, please let us know that as well.   We would like to be a resource for pre-op patients to get information as well.

Ira has started a new group called It Takes a Village to help provide resources and support for the support people.   If you are interested in the group, send Ira a message!

If at anytime you have any questions or want information covered, please let us know.   We are here to do what we can in support of you!

I made it through training, Yeah!!!
July 13, 2008 5:08 am

I made it, I went through the training course and I am now a Support Group Leader and it is an honor to join Melissa with this group. Supporting people who have gone through WLS of any type is a passion for me. I see the difference first hand in people who have someone to support them, lead them, hold their hand and even cry with them. This cannot be an easy road for any one, and a little push once in a while goes a long way. It will be my pleasure to join with you in your journey and to be here for any of you who need me. Also if you have someone who you would like to talk to me about helping you, please have them contact me. As Melissa has said I have a different perspective of the surgery and would love to share it.

Sharing my SuperMan
July 9, 2008 10:15 pm
Ira been such a cheerleader and support for me through out this process.   He attends doctor's appointments and support groups with me.   He knows this is something we are doing together.   Sure I could probably do it without him but he makes the road much easier!

If you find that your support person needs a burst of energy or support for themselves, please have them use Ira as a resource.   He has a unique perspective in that he is being trained as I have in the types of surgeries and nutrition but he is seeing it from the outside.

He knows my struggles and he helps me get back on track.   Every day he tells me I am beautiful, even though I see things sagging more.   He has been patient and understanding...He is a great example of what a support system should be...that is not to say he is perfect but he is running real close!

He is as dedicated to seeing us all succeed as we are.   Don't hesitate to contact him if you need another resource.

Melissa did it again today gang..
July 9, 2008 9:39 am
I guess I am going to have to stop this, but today Melissa came to meet me for lunch and she was wearing a size 20 business suit. As our daughter Elizabeth says "OMG", when she started she was in a 30-32. I still don't believe it. In other news from the front I will complete my support group leaders training on Saturday July 12. I am really excited for our group. Again congratulations to all of you as you continue to lose weight, this is a special journey, and you are all very special to me.

Ira
