Ahhh, the cold front is here.  The stoma is closed for business.  Cold, dry weather wrecks havoc with me, but the good news is I know that it's a problem and I eat accordingly.  Does anyone else have coldweather band shut downs?

hoodoo.... that is something that i had not heard before...issues with weather changes.  as a rny patient i don't have any issues with weather.  when we met the other evening i found out that a couple of you band ladies have issues with vegetable oil.  i keep learning and learning it's crazy!!!  even though i have already has surgery all the interesting things i learn give me more information to share with others who are researching as well.   sorry you couldn't meet us for dinner the other night!  i look forward to it in the future! rnr

The crazy part is, there is no reason I can think of that would make the weather be a factor, but it is.  I don't have a gallbladder, so I am careful of any oil, or rather too much oil.

For me, the choice for banding was made after taking a look at fairly common issues for all surgeries, and deciding what would work best for me and my life, and so far, I've been very happy with my decision.  Every surgery has it's pros and cons, and finding the right match up for you is almost like finding the right mate!

I went through a bizarre thing where I wanted tuna in balsamic vinegar.  I really don't think of my problems as "problems"-just things I need to learn.  One of the things I've learned is that things change.  Chicken was orginally a no no, but learning to chew properly changed all that.

Chewing is now one of the greatest things ever!
