Hope ur doing well still!!!
Hi Mickey! I have my sleeve done on 6/26/13. I'm at home now recovering well. If you're worried about billing, I would suggest calling the hospital tomorrow and asking someone in the billing dept if you have a co-pay. Shouldn't be too much, if you do have one. Also, you might bill from the anesthesiologist. Good Luck!
that is how i feel too i go in july 3rd 4days to go did u hav your or when is it
Hi!
I had vsg surgery on May 16. So happy with this decision!
If you are still wondering how to navigate this site and are trying to find more information on vsg from others in the same boat as us go to the top of the page. On the blue bar fourth tab in is forums. A pop up with a list of all the different forums will come up. At the bottom of the list is Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. The forum has hundreds of pages of questions, answers, recipes everything from people going through everything we are.
I hope this helped!
So how is everyone doing? I'm scheduled for surgery (sleeve) on the 2nd of July and now that it's this close, I'm more nervous than anything! Not only about the procedure but the insurance! How in the heck do you all know? The surgical associates I'm going through seem to be doing everything for me (which makes feel a little bit of just being part of the herd). I did warn them that I had better not get stuck with a $30,000.00 bill and they assured me I wouldn't (better be pro bono then...LOL). I'm just really curious what to expect in the hospital and at home the first few weeks after if anyone would like to share!
I've found as time as gone on, I am now able to get more fluids in (YAHOO!) During the liquid phase, I did 2 protein shakes a day (great way to get protein in), and soups, popsicles ect. I'm on pureed now...so many more options!
When are you getting your sleeve? Are you getting excited/nervous?
Hey Karen. I haven't had surgery yet (just got insurance approval for the sleeve). I've been reading around on the various forums. Glad to read that you got through the surgery and doing well on this long journey. I'm not sure about any tried and true ways to get protein and liquid in but do you do shaved ice...being cold may not be of use as you may need room temp. water but some people like to crunch on ice so thought that might be of use. I'm guessing you are on the liquid portion of post op diet? Are you doing the protein shakes?
Hi folks! I'm Karen, 41 living in PA. Just got sleeved 5 days ago. I originally went in for RNY in January and had a surgical error that prohibited be from getting the surgery. Did get a nice incision and a 4 week recovery. Waited a few months, switched to the sleeve and doing good for just a few days out. Off pain meds since I left the hospital. Working to get all of my fluids and protein in (it is really hard!) I feel like I am in a good place.
Any strategies to get the protein and liquid in?
