Hi Paula,

Just got back from a week's vacation.  That was challenging!

I am on softs.....4 more days until full food.   I have a stressful life....I work full-time and lead a team of 50, have my family to manage as well.  It's a lot...but I keep juggling. I went back to work after 2 weeks (worked at home for 1 week and then back to the office.)   I went in for surgery initially in January and the surgeon made an error, so this is my 2nd time off of work.  Had to make it short.  I have been a little frustrated by a 1 1/2 week stall (just lost a pound finally.)  I am trying to up my protein to 75 grams and really get my water in.  Water is hard for me.  I can only drink a little at a time...so to get it all in is really hard.  I'm down almost 40 pounds...so doing OK, but some people seem to be losing like gang-busters, but mine is much slower.  As long as I am losing right?

How are you doing?

Hi again Karen,

I went back to work this week (after 4wks off) and the first day was awful - too immersed and forgot to drink. Was sent home because my head was really swimming. Next day coworker loaded an egg timer on my computer that beeped every 15 min to remind me to sip. That was the first day ever that I got all 8 glasses.

Thank you passing along suggestion to focus on drinking & proteins. Have been augmenting meals with shakes to get my 70 grams. And the combination seems to have really energized me. You are my inspiration.

Am stalled now; but trust it will correct and am staying on program. How are you doing?

Paula

My surgery is in seven days. I'm getting more nervous and excited. Please pass along whatever you find that works for your protein and liquid consumption, as I'll be in your situation shortly. How long did you wait to return to work (assuming you work out of the home)?

How exciting for you!!!  All will be well...you can get through it.  I ate a lot of super free popsicles in the beginning.  I found that I could do them well...a little easier than water.  I sipped like crazy.  I found that the further I got out of the surgery, the more I could manage.  In the beginning, I could only take in a little, but as my stomach healed, I could do more and more.  Fat free cream of chicken soup with dry milk was also super helpful.  I prefer the Isopure Low Carb protein powder....goes down well.

I went back to work after 2 weeks.  I did have a surgical error during my 1st surgery attempt (in January), and was out of work then as well.  So I regrouped and here I am now.  Needed to get back as quickly as I could.

All the best to you...let me know how you are doing!!

Your probably past this by now, But one thing that worked for me is to add a protein shot in when making my sugar free jello. Hope this helps someone.
