we all are some what afraid but think of it as a new start to a healthy you. Every day my mind tell me go eat junk food it only one day not going to hurt but i fight threw it.
haha...my surgery would be cancelled if I had Wendy's! I'm sitting here having my bariatric soup...one more day of soups before I have to change to clear liquids...my hubby was just digging out all the 4 oz containers for me for when I get home...so many things to keep in mind...I picked up my decaffeinated tea and unflavored protein powder...I think I'm as prepared as I can be... I guess we will see! LOL
The count down begins so excited to be sleeve soon still my mind tell me to go out and eat Wendy's for the last time
Sounds like you are doing all the right things.
I know this is a big step and I'm thinking of you and wishing you all the best for the 24th.
My op is scheduled for Wednesday the 17th. It's an all in one - take out band and turn stomach into sleeve.
I haven't had a lot of info from the Prof about post -op eating so I'm planning two weeks liquids, two week mushies and two weeks soft foods. I've made and frozen five of my favourite soups in small quantities and bought a supply of Usana protein shakes that i like.
Prof says one night in hospital and a week off work and I'm a bit concerned that won't be enough but since I'm the boss, I guess no-one will really give me a hard time if I take more time off.
And yes, I'm really aware right now that I am planning on having about 80% of my stomach removed and that it's a non-reversible procedure that carries risks just like any surgery does.
Ive arranged for my dog (a six month old puppy) to go to doggy day care for the day of surgery and the day after as well as having a dog walker come in.
It's not that I'm really having second thoughts - more like I'm just realising truly the size of this decision.
I am afraid of pain and nausea but I will be a big girl and ask for help. Pain control can be hard for me because I'm allergic to morphine. And my trusty bladder often goes on strike and won't let me pee after longer anaesthetics (all disclosed in the medical forms).
I just want to get this done now and yet I'm also a bit apprehensive.
Only five days away now.
Well, they made me go home. Apparently they have more faith in me than I had in myself. LOL
Good luck with your surgery! It sounds like you have a good start on your exercise! I guess I am lucky because I can buy my vitamins and quite a bit of protein rich foods right at my bariatric center... good luck with everything!
Congrats on making it to the other side!! Good decision to stay the night...I have to stay two night at least...take is easy and keep on sipping!
