I haven't had to be on a liquid diet prior to surgery, so I will admit I've had a few favourite things but I haven't binged and it actually feels ok. I guess we all have a kind of food funeral - real or imaginary. Food is such a complicated thing for us all. Well done for resisting having the big binge and good luck with the surgery this week.

Topic: RE: GOOD LUCK!!!

My surgeon says that I will only need one night in hospital (I'm going in on Wednesday). I'm quite anxious about pain, nausea and hydration. I'll let you know how I go.

Annd good luck to us all this week.

I guess I am fortunate (?) that my surgeon said I don't need to do any special diet in the weeks leading up to the surgery, until I need to go onto clear fluids only the day before.  Strange how each doctor has his or her own way.

Good luck to you and hope your healing starts right away and is very successful!

So glad your surgery went well!  Remember to try SF Popsicles as well.  Anything to keep hydrated and get your new stomach working properly, right?

It takes a while to recover from any major surgery.  I remember feeling a bit out of it for about a month following my gal bladder surgery.  Kind of low energy and my brain was foggy.  Go easy on yourself, and be very careful about driving too soon.

Thank you!  My caffeine free headaches are starting to diminish a bit.  I didn't realize how addicted I was to that cup of real coffee and creamer every morning!

just a little over one week till my surgery.  I have been looking at videos and reading my literature trying to get ready.  That brings up a question.  Has anyone found any good apps to keep track of everything yet?  If you have found something that works for you, please share.
