Hi Rick,
Since I do not ride a bike, I am sorry to say that I will not be at the rides.  I would love it if someone started a walking group.  This is a little more doable for me.  Thank you!

Greetings all.....

I sent out a Private Message to all the members of Prep 4 Success today and would like to get everyones input on the Weekly Bike Rides here in Riverside. Please dont feel like you have to be some frofessional bicyclist to join in on these rides. The biketrail is very simple and can vary from 1 mile to 30 miles. So dont feel that you have to be able to keep up.......We all have to start somewhere and at our own pace.

We can change locations of the ride when ever we would like to change the scenery and difficulty as time progresses. Lets give it a try. If we get enough responses, I will post the start date and PM it everyone.

Have a great day...........Rick

Hello!  I am a new member to this group!  I see that it has been a long time since the last discussion!  Reading back, I see that a few of you are members of Kaiser, and have already been through the classes!  That is great news to me!  I will be starting them on May 10th!  Do you remember how hard that wait was?!?  There is a bit of a change... the classes use to be 6 months, but are now only 3, so I am lucky there.  Just wondering how happy you were with the Kaiser Options program, who your surgeon was, and where.  Do you have any tips for me?  Maybe something you think they left out of the classes?  So excited about starting this new chapter in my life, and there is no way I am going to be able to just sit and wait to see what I learn!  I have been reading like crazy, and learning everything I can!  Hope to hear from you!  Thanks!

Greetings everyone,

I want to apologize to everyone for my absence. I have had a really wierd work schedule for the past few months and unfortunately a couple medical set backs as well. But all so far is working out and I would like to get this group going full speed.

My wife and I are planning to move down to the Riverside area soon. But this is still a few months away. I would like to get some input from everyone what you guys would like to see us do as a group. I have a few ideas in mind but I want this to be a group effort. Post what you would like to do or see and we will strive to get it going.

Have a great day all...........Rick

Greetings and welcome to the Prep4Success boards

There is a support group in Redlands monthly put on by Crown Bariatric (Dr Suh). Nice supportive group of people. Hopefully, within the next month or two, we will have a meeting place here in Fontana and will be holding monthly meetings along with starting the walking in the park again as soon as the weather improves and our work schedules calm down a bit.

I too was a Kaiser PT and they are great. I choose Crown Bariatric because of Dr Suh's rep within the Bariatric field and I now know I made the right decision. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help support you through your upcoming journey

Have a great day.........Rick

Hi,
I went through Kaiser Fontana and finished my classes Dec 4th. Good luck in the classes. I enjoyed them and learned a few new things as well as confirmed thing I already knew. I have only been once to a support group since my health has prevented me from going to the last 2 and the last one I needed to spend all day shopping for my upcoming surgery. I know that you can go to http://www.pbsmg.com/news/info.asp and find a bunch of different support groups put on by Pacific Bariatric but are open to everyone. Good luck in your journey!!

Nathalie

Hello all!  I'm jsut starting on my journey.  I got my pre-program questionnaire today from Kaiser.  The questions are interesting, digging in to the reasons for my weight.  Guess I didn't expect that to start so soon.  :)
I am wondering if anyone has info on support groups here in the Inland Empire.  I know there are a ton in Northern Cali, but I don't know about down here.
Thanks much!
