Hi,

Was told I have PCOS and endometriosis in 2001, and they have kept me on Yaz to keep both the cyst and endo under control after surgery.

How does your doctor determine if you need metformin?  I kind of feel that they have swept my symptoms under the rug with the Yaz, but maybe more should be done?

LOL. I DO actually like exercise (never thought i'd say that!! lol). I do some jogging (my version of running as I'm not that fast yet). I started using the couch 2 5k program in October and I now jog 30 minutes (aprox. 3 miles) at least 3 times a week sometimes up to 5 days a week depending on how bad my week has gone. I also cycle 3 times a week right now. I range from 4 to 7 miles a ride. Slowly improving on that. I do some weights on occasion, but I really have to force myself to do that as I really don't enjoy the repition of lifting (i find it boring, but know I really need to do at least some cross training). I hate being in a gym so I do all my stuff outside so it can also be weather dependent as well.

I am starting training for a 10k and 1/2 marathon and have decided on several races for this year. I am slowly working up towards a 50K (about 32 miles) that I want to run in 2011.

I wish I could say that I am working out, but I haven't found the energy yet! It feels like I can go full steam until about 3pm and then I am DONE. I have occasionally walk/jogged on our eliptical machine, but have had the energy to do that again.

I need to break down and buy the Wii Fit, because so many people that I know love it. I also read this article about ways to tone yourself on your lunch break. I have a huge office with nothing but a desk in it, so maybe I can just shut my door and go for it. Atleast I have energy at that time of day!!!

I cannot wait until summer. My sister has a pool and I think I might live in it this year! Besides, I will be thin enough by then to not scare my Bro-in-Law with my bathing suit. LOL...

Hi Jessica!
Welcome!!

Might be something you want to talk to you obgyn about
however...i was on the nuvaring before and had the same problem...and i just couldn't handle it anymore... as of right now i got the implanon for my birth control...it goes in your arm and can last up to 3 years, and be taken out anytime you want..its really tiny..your arm hurts for a few days but after that totally fine... so maybe trying a new bc for you would work better then the nuvaring?!?
write you questions and concerns down, and just give you doctor a call or scheduale an appt

good luck girly, keep us up dated!!

Teresa I really hope you get everything you are hoping for !!!  I have to admit I was hopeful about the surgery helping with the PCOS - but pessimistic.   I had pretty much closed the door on the whole pregnancy thing after 20 yrs and no baby,  no periods for 9 or 10 months,  and no ovulating.
I had surgery 3 months ago and have lost nearly 60 lbs.    I am off ALL meds for diabetes, Insulin resistance, and blood pressure and most awesome of all.... I've had 3 periods,  exactly  28 or 29 days apart,  wicked amazing!!   I was even able to predict within a day the last one!  (NEVER have been able to do that)  so the hubby and I have started letting ourselves talk about trying again when I get the go ahead.

Hello optimism....  I don't believe we've met!  lol

I'm not familiar with the nuvaring or its side effects...it might be worth bringing up with your OB/GYN.  I do know that because of the weight loss that your hormones are in flux and that alone can cause funky periods and varied PMS symptoms.  As for your freezing all the time and tailbone pain...yeah...I'm with ya there.  Welcome to the club!

Sorry I couldn't answer more.
