I'm new... as in just joined 3.7 seconds ago buy I really like "Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you respond to it." .... or react to it. I can't remember. I always react so negatively and think everything bad is always happening to me so I really try to remember that saying.

Topic: RE: Please Tell us about youself, and your story
Hi everyone. I am 30 and I too suffer with PCOS. I've had it ever since I can remember but wasn't diagnosed until I was 22/23. I HATE it!!! and it makes me feel ugly. I used to take Metformin for it but was taken off because of elevated liver enzymes. I've never been able to get pregnant. My periods haven't been normal since I was 16 years old. Currently, I haven't had a period in over 4 month's!

Topic: RE: Inferility........
Sorry I've not been around lately...been way busier on FB...that and since I'm an 'old timer' so to speak (7 yrs post op) I don't come around too often...sorry.  Anyway to answer your questions.

Have you got pregnant/before/or after surgery?  Never pregnant before, went through 8 yrs of failed fertility treatments prior to surgery.  I was able to get pregnant twice after surgery very easily...both times the 1st month trying.
Did you use any fertility medication to get pregnant?  Nope...just charted my temps to pinpoint ovulation.
If pregnant-or- was pregnant how were your moods?  both times I was elated...soooo happy. I was in disbelief at first with my first baby...so easy post op!
How did/or/do you feel that it took so long to have a child? or/may not be able to have a child?  I have to admit that after trying to get pregnant for 10 years without luck that I had about given up on ever being a mom.  I do have to admit though that with everything I've been through that I think it makes me cherish my children more...I don't take anything they do for granted ya know?
Do you blame yourself?  No, because while going through all the testing we found that we also had a male factor...minor...but a factor.  I did carry most of the blame though.  No baby if there are no eggs being kicked out ya know?
Does it feel like your the only one who couldn't have kids/or/can't have kids?
In my circle...definitely.  I'm the only one who struggled with infertility.  All of my friends/cousins/SIL got pregnant 'accidently'...no one tried to get pregnant...it just happened when they weren't really ready.  I felt like a failure more and more with each "I'm pregnant" announcement.  Especially when my BIL got married spur of the moment to my SIL who I'd only met once before and within 2-3 months after the wedding announced that they were pregnant with the 1st grandchild.  That was MY job...I'd been in the family for WAY longer than her and I held a LOT of jealousy.  Of course...I'm over it now...but at the time...well...ya know how that goes.

Topic: What is the most sucessful surgury to treat weightloss and symptoms associated with PCOS?
Hello- I am new to the group and I'm seriously considering weightloss surgery, though I'm afriad that it won't lead to weighloss. I've tried many diets, exercise programs, medication, pyschotherapy, naturopathic remedies, etc and nothing works to balance my hormones enough for the weight to come off. What is the most sucessful surgery to treat weightloss in patients with PCOS? Thank you! Keep strong Cysters!

Have you got pregnant/before/or after surgery? YES
Did you use any fertility medication to get pregnant? No
If pregnant-or- was pregnant how were your moods? Up and down...i'm sure about the same as any pregnant woman  :)
How did/or/do you feel that it took so long to have a child? or/may not be able to have a child? It was frustrating....seemed like this day would never be here
Do you blame yourself? Everyday
Does it feel like your the only one who couldn't have kids/or/can't have kids? yeah  i always felt like I was alone in the battle to get pregnant.

I was told I would probably never get pregnant since I was 16 but was never diagnosed with pcos until I was about 26.  The dr put me on metformin to bring down my insulin resistance but it didn't help.  She was going to put me on clomid but due to the metformin not working she decided against it. I then did my research about gastric bypass and decided i would try it in order to get pregnant!  Thank God it worked!!!  I had my gastric bypass on 10/7/2010.  i found out I was pregnant on 4/1/2011 what a birthday present!  I am now 9 weeks and 4 days.  God has truly blessed me beyond measure.  It's been a bumpy ride but luckily everything has turned out good so far.  Good Luck to everyone and never give up hope!

I too, wish this board was more active!  Here's one of my favorite quotes.

"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." ~ Marilyn Monroe

This group is such a great idea!  I wi**** were more active!  Lets try somethign fun...

What is a fav quote or joke?

"A lady picked up several items at a discount store. When she finally got up to the checker, she learned that one of her items had no price tag. Imagine her embarrassment when the checker got on the intercom and boomed out for the entire store to hear, ‘PRICE CHECK ON LANE THIRTEEN, TAMPAX, SUPER SIZE." That was bad enough, but somebody at the rear of the store apparently misunderstood the word 'Tampax' for ‘THUMBTACKS.’ In a businesslike tone, a voice boomed back over the intercom: ‘DO YOU WANT THE KIND YOU PUSH IN WITH YOUR THUMB OR THE KIND YOU POUND IN WITH A HAMMER?’
