I'm so sorry you lost your babies and I appreciate you posting your story.  My husband and I will try to start a family in about 15 months and I will be sure to talk to my doc about Met.  I have heard that us PCOS-ers have a greater chance of miscarriage.  So not only do we have to struggle to get pregnant but we have to struggle to stay pregnant.  It's hard to keep positive sometimes when the odds are against us but it sounds like you are on the right path.  Best wishes to you!

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.

Definitely wait.  I'm not sure what your surgeons protocol is but for the 1st week I was on clear liquids and then moved on to 'pureed proteins'...but I didn't puree anything...ick.  I chewed til mush and it helped me to eat slowly.  You'll want to focus on protein protein protein.. the mushy carbs can wait.  Your body can take the carbs you need from your fat cells but there are essential amino acids that you MUST have and you can only get those from edible protein.

Just my thoughts...

I know you want to do it, but I suggest waiting until after surgery. Your taste buds really do change some and somethings you think you will like, may not work for you at all! I would get some tuna (you don't really even have to puree it, just take small bites and chew really well) apple sauce, SF popcycles, protein powders that you can add to fruit smoothies (although watch that, my pouch was temperamental when it came to hot/cold drinks. Sometimes hot worked, other times cold did, but there was no set pattern. lol) I used to enjoy applesauce and I don't really like it now though, so it really is all about experimenting to find out what works for you afterwards. That and the fact that you'll only be eating a couple of ounces at a time to start just doesn't make it worth it to make a lot of stuff up ahead of time. How long does your Dr. have you on the pureed foods? I was only on them about a week and a half or so. Then went on to soft foods like cottage cheese and scrambled eggs, etc.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

I'm so sorry to hear of your MC's! It is a good idea to stay on the Met for the first trimester if not longer and the progesterone is a MUST! Have them check your levels early out. I know a couple of my friends with PCOS finally got PG and ended up having to take the progesterone shots for several weeks! Great big hugs to you! Do you visit Soul Cysters? there is a great pregnancy board and trying to conceive board as well with lots of info and support. Best wishes for a safe and healthy pregnancy!

Honestly, if you're having gastric bypass, I really wouldnt worry about having pureed foods ahead of time. Coming right out of surgery you'll be too busy trying to get your protein and water in that you'll probably want real food mentally, but you really wont have room for it.

If anything, buy  small cups of applesauce or jello, or have your mom make about a quarter cup of mashed potatoes if you must taste real food. Or in the morning have some oatmeal or something along those lines. But again anything you make ahead of time will really go wasted.
