Topic: Unwanted Hair!
Hey guys,
Anyone found anything that helps with the unwanted facial hair? I tried lazer treatments, but they did not work. They also left me very discolored and it looked worse than before. The dark color has faded now....that was years ago. I am wondering if you have any suggestions.
Thanks,
Jane

Well I'm two months post op. I have been bleeding on & off pretty much ever since I had my surgery. Has anyone else had this issue??? My dr wants me to see my RE or OBGYN to stop the bleeding because my iron might be low. Ugh, I had this! HELP!

Topic: Just an update...
So this is just s quick update for those who have been such a great support to me within the past few weeks. I had my surgery the 22nd of February. I was nervous as hell but knew I was in good hands. I had the sniffles, well more of a full blown out sinus infection. They contimplated on cancelling the surgery until I was better, until the surgeon told the other docs that it would take him another 3 months to be able to book me for a date. He said that is ridiculous and he was continuing with the surgery, because I was in good health otherwise. Then came the blur of things, I dont even remember going into the surgery room! Yeah they gave me some good stuff. The first thing I remember is waking up in ICU. It was about 1130 am and the nurse came right in when she noticed I was waking. She wanted to make sure I knew where I was and I was comfortable. Then came the docs. Well long story short, the nurses had shift change that night about 7pm. The new nurse guy came in with a bad attitude to begin with. Well needless to say all night he'd rather sit at his desk talking to another nurse about buying guns and **** rather than check on the patients. I buzzed 4 times before this nurse came in to help me to the restroom, I was doing the potty dance by the time he got me up. Well the rest of the night continued to be like this, where I was holding my bladder until someone came along to help. IT was awful. The next morning the new nurse came in as nice as nice can be and immediatly saw something was not right. I told her I hurt and that it hurt to pee. She immediatly got a doc on the phone and on his way down to me. Come to find out because I held my pee so long I came down with a UTI....ughhh the most awful pain! Well they ended up having to put a Foley in and assist me. That night I was taken to the other floor where they just take people who are recovering. I ended up have the foley taken out just to have another one put in the next day. A 2 day hospital stay turned into 4 days. OMG it was terrible. There were good and great nurses and there were bad horrible ones. Well they ended up sending me home with the catheter and told me it would be in for 2 weeks!!! Seriously 2 whole weeks I would have a bag of urine strapped to my leg..lol well come Tuesday(today) I had a visit with my surgeon about some concerns that I had and I asked to have it removed. Everything is fine now and I can finally get a peaceful nights rest. I am completely off pain meds! Anyways sorry this is so long, but what a horrible experience! Oh and also, 22 lbs gone forever!!!

Hello I am new here. I am doing well. My favorite protein now seems to be chicken. I too cook it several ways. I have a meeting at red lobster on Thurs and plan on trying talapia or salmon. I mix my protein (unflavored) to 6 oz of juice in the mornings and drink that on the drive to work.

Chicken is my best friend. I use to not be able to eat it, until like 5 months out. I cook it many ways, eat it cold, eat it for any meal, and add things to it, salad, salsa, cheese, beans, cottage cheese. I carry cold cooked chicken with me when I go out for the day too. LOL I was never able to do the protein shakes, always made me sick, so I bought a cheapie chocolate whey powder at walmart and add it to my coffee, sometimes in a shot of milk, just depends, even add it to some plain yogurt!

I just started soft foods today! I was thrilled with the little bit of refried beans and salsa I had.
My favorite protein shakes so far are: Inspire Dutch Chocolate, Inspire Carmel latte, and Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel

I don't have many but I seem to get them on my eyelids so I go to the dermatologist to get them removed- the 1st time I went it was covered by the insurance but the next time I went I had to pay per skin tag removed since insurance wouldn't cover it, it was $10 a skin tag I think. I don't know if they go away since I just had surgery.

Support outside of OH, yes my family, friends and especially my hubby!
Has anyone thought it was a bad idea, yes my brother and his wife are concerned because they have seen others that have had this surgery totally change who they are on the inside. My mom is just nervous but she is supportive, one of my best friends doesn't like the surgery but loves me enough to support me through it.
Yes my hubby supports me the most he always is there for me and wants whats best for me. he even goes to appointments with me when he can.
I haven't started going to support groups yet but most likely will after the surgery. This website is a great support to me as well!

I gotta tell you guys that I hate, hate, HATE skin tags!!! They are so frustrating! Its convient when the docs do it but having them burned off has left scars on my neck. So after asking a dermatologist about it, I take them off myself. Pull them off with clippers, close as possible to the skin then dab it till it stops bleeding and then put a drop of wart remover (salicylate acid) on it and cover it with a little bandaid.
I've got these miserable abominations on my neck, armpits, beneath my breasts (right where my bra sits and ouch! that hurts) and what I hate more than anything is that my son has started developing them. Ugh!!!! I hate genetics. And yes, genetics play a part as to whether you are predisposed to developing them or not. Sux right? I agree!!!
Anyway I've heard (not tried or seen) that you can encircle them with dental floss the just tighten the loop and basically yank them off. Sounds painless but I have enough trouble getting it right with clippers (a new toe nail clipper type) I cant imagine dental floss staying put for the job....
There is also, depending how consistant you are, the use of wart remover acid several times a day for a week or so. Basically till its gone but if you stop or miss for even a day, the darn things grow back soooo quickly!!!!!!
