Topic: RE: Ever nervous that WLS wouldn't work for PCOS?
The diet isn't so bad, 30 carbs a day max, so basically I am drinking two protein drinks and then a sensible meal at dinner, using sf jello and pudding as snacks. Drinking water and decaf tea. But I have only lost 2lbs. The insurance thing is really annoying. I want to be planning and getting ready but feel like I can't until the approval comes through. I know I will be so disappointed if they deny me. I am more excited that it is almost here.
I go friday for an endoscopy to remove a couple of polyps, not really looking forward to that though.
I just don't wait my surgeon to say sorry you didn't lose enough on the pre op diet so we can't do the surgery. Although they know about the PCOS and how many times I have tried to lose weight. So we'll see.
Thanks for the response. It's so nice to have someone to talk to about it that understands.

You are welcome! Your date will be here soon! I got really antsy and super nervous the few weeks before my RNY. Gotta love how INS takes their time approving you! Hows your diet going? Having a hard time sticking to it? The day before my surgery I ate a half a bowl of cereal, and then got so scared the doc would know and wouldnt do surgery, I even cried when I told him! He laughed at me, guess he wasnt so worried about it!

Thanks for your response! I too am not an overeater but yes a grazer at times. My surgery is scheduled for April 12th, however I am still waiting for the insurance to approve me. All of my papers are in and now it's a waiting game. Preop is scheduled for the 30th.

On my preop, I think I did 4 weeks before, 2 was full liquid, I lost 4 pounds, and thats it! Your body takes time to adjust! I dont know about you, I wasnt an overeater, I did graze though, ALOT! lol. And my body took time to get use to the new me!
Give it time! Itll work in the end! Promise!
Whens surgery?

Just wondering if any of you were nervous that WLS wouldn't work because of the PCOS? I am on a preop diet right now and barely losing anything. How about you all any similar stories? Please share.
