Good luck today! Im a lil slow sorry!
I had RNY and have lost a ton of weight, at times it was hard. But it does come off. I think anyone who has PCOS no matter what surgery they have will have a harder time getting it off because of the PCOS.
You dont have to be an over eater to get heavy. And PCOS isnt the only reason you are heavy either. Its a combination of things. Now Im not trying to say that mean! WHat I mean by that, and this is what the doc has told me, PCOS has made it easy to gain weight and a lot harder to lose it.
I was never an over eater, I was what I call a grazer. Tasting here and there, nibbles from the pan to make sure it tasted good, and so on. And before I knew it, 2 kids later and an extra 175 pounds, I needed to lose weight!
Im sure you will do great! Maybe try asking the same question on the VSG board? I dont know?
I remind myself daily that surgery is a tool, and I have to continue to use it, change my ways, exercise more then most just because of the pcos. But the weight coming off is very much worth it!

When I was 25 I had a partial hysto.. I am now 33 next month, and have suffered a great deal. I went thru the dramas of my PCOS getting worse and worse over the years. And I dont know about anyone else, but I now have both ovaries and still suffering the same symptoms as someone going thru menopause.
My opinion, take it all out, I wish I had way back when I was 25, I can take pills to ease some of the hormonal stuff, and it really cant be any worse then it is now right?
Im going in, April 26th to have my ovaries removed. Because I can NOT handle the pain anymore!
I understand the painful sex too, its like life has to stop! Do what you think in your heart is right for you! Either way, keeping them or not, you will still have some issues :)
Good luck with your decision! And surgery!

My only thought is are you prepared to go into medical menopause and deal with all the side effects???

Okay, I haven't been online much because my hubby has been home on two weeks leave from Iraq. He is gone now. soooooooo here is my story. While he was home, sex was more and more painful. I went to the GYN and found out I have severe uterine prolapse and a severe rectocele. I had been diagnosed with this about three years ago but it was only minor at that time. He wanted to go ahead and admit me for surgery due to concerns of complete prolapse but I had to say no. My husband was only going to be home for two weeks. I wasn't going to have the last week of that spent in the hospital and not to mention with three little ones under the age of 4....I have a soon to be four daughter and twin boys that just turned two.. I have to arrange extended childcare for them...soooo...I think I now have the childcare arranged and am trying to schedule surgery ASAP.....or....I have to go ahead and start wearing a pessary(we aren't even going to go there..lol)...NOW, to my question....I am having the hysterectomy but should I go ahead and push for a complete hysterectomy??? Considering the past history with PCOS and the risk of ovarian cancer...would that be the best option to ask him to remove them. I am not too concerned about the side effects of having them removed, I am more concerned with what happens if I leave them in. They have been nothing but trouble so far..lol....So, what is your opinions on this???

Sadly I still eat but not nearly to the extent I used to. When I have time I love to crochet...it's very relaxing and when your concentrating on a pattern/stitch it distracts you from what's stressing you out. Plus it takes 2 hands so I can't eat!

BTW - sorry to hear of your loss...

Hot Bath + Good Book= Less Stressed me!
I love our big tub, we have a jetted one. That was my one request when we moved in to our house. It is such a haven for me when I need a break.
