For your PCOS, do you see a gynocologist, an endocrinologist, a reproductive endocrinologist or someone else?

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.

I am lucky to not have those symptoms and I am so sorry you have to experience that. Hang in there.

Topic: RE: Please Tell us about youself, and your story
Hi everyone, my name is Sonia. I too have pcos. I remember my period coming on when I was 13 then stopped. My mother took me to the doctors to see why and they just said my body wasnt ready. It came on and off for years but my mother assured me that it will staighten out. Around 18 my mom and I got worried and wanted some answers.....just got bc no answers. I remember oncethat i thought i had another packso when iwas on thegray pills my period came on and Ihad to wait three weeks for the doctor to see me to get a refill, he wounldn't write the refill without the appointment he only got paid thru medicare for office visit so i bleed for one month.I wasokay if I had kids or notbecause every guy I dated had kids so I thought it was a two for oneblessing. I got married in 2002 and I was 27, I had a good husband who had a 5yr old girl I was complete. After a few years and nosurprises happenedmy husband started askingquestions. Since I didnt have a reason or knew what was wrong I didn't know how to explain it to him or answer his questions....so i didnt tell him. I then started seeking help which lead to the fertility dr. We did clomid and a few shots then two sessions of AI....no baby so we stop still no daignoses. It was time for my annualgyn appt but he was called to the delivery room so they askedif I would mind to seethe nurse practitioner, seeing no problem I said yes.She review my chart, asked serveralquestions then sent me for blood work. A few weekslater Ihad a daignosesand went back and scheduled with her for what was next. She advise me tolose weight and then comeback. I thought no way, that simple just lose and I will get pregnant, couldn't be that easy. She also put me on metforim to. Well I was determined to proveher wrong I wanted something out of my control tobe the problem not something that wasa problem that I did have the power to control. So with metformin and weigh****chers and the treadmil I lose 60lbs in the next few months. Andfound out alittle beforeMothers' Day 2005 that I was pregnant.Someone told me a secret that worked for me using the treadmil, walk for until the calories burned is my total weight each time i walk, so if i weight 250 walk for until it says 250 calories burned. So after having her and dealing with my husband and I separating, losing my job and taking over the house by myself I found myself not able to put down the spoon or fork. And having her and watching her pick over every meal I find myself eating hers and mine just not to waste. I prayed for a relief and I think wls is the key to living again, feeling sexy and sexual again. Not just wanting to date but feeling confident to date. I am worried about the skin if I will have that problem but wont know until I do it, they say everyone is different and it depends on your skin type. Surgery is scheduled for May 3, 2010.
Thank you forreading my story and thank you all for yours.

Topic: RE: VSG and PCOS
Hi

I had my Sleeve done on the 2/24 and I have been going good I think. Alot better than I thought I would with having PCOS.I don't know if I'm a "fast or slow loser" I have lost 39.9lbs all up and that's including the 2 weeks pre-op diet of optifast, I have stalled twice for 7-10days. I have noticed that I don't crave sugar or white carbs since my op. (but that's me, Everyone is different). I really am not liking the taste of sweets e.g chocolate, ice-cream etc.....

I watch what I eat and drink every day as I know this is a tool and I have to work it. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything as I was a HUGE eater before.

I hope that helps

Best wishes to all

I am so sorry you are having to go through this and not have anyone close to you that understands. You did the right thing about coming on here to your Cysters and venting, because truly we are the only ones that can understand you because we live with it also. As for the pain, you shouldnt have to be going through that much pain and still have 3 weeks to live with it. I would be calling the doctor right away. I do understand about people thinking you are faking the pain. My husband thinks I fake alot of my pains and troubles just to get attention, but in fact I am in pain. I do know what you are going through and it breaks you down emotionally, and you bottle up everything inside until you just dont complain anymore and you deal with it. Then everyone wonders why you are a *****! Well if they had to live in pain everyday they would be *****in too.

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!  I hope you have a great one!

YAY! Congrats! I hope you recover quickly!
Hmm Suggestions.. I have a few!
Sip sip sip sip! Keep on sipping! Walk walk walk! The more you walk the better you will feel! Be patient, with yourself. Don't expect too much from yourself! I beat myself up for weeks when things didnt work the way I wanted...
And the scale, lol. Don't get on it every day! It will drive you crazy! Mine did!
You will do great! Have to let us know when you are home and how things are going! We will make room for you here on the losers bench
