Anyway I'll be 6 years post op RNY next month. I too am still hairy, but sadly once the hair is there...it won't ever go away unless it's removed via laser or whatnot. My periods I guess could be normal...I'm not sure since I have the Mirena IUD, but when I didn't have the Mirena I was regular and was even able to concieve 2x on the 1st month trying.
Long story short at 6 years post op I'm still down 100lb and a far cry from the woman I was before. I still have a fair amt of abdominal skin/fat, but it's the same as it was at 1 year post op so the only way it's going to go away is by the surgical route.
Good luck with the DS!
I started at 324lbs and a size 26. After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011. My second daughter was born in September 2013. I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs. I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter. The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls. My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.

After losing 129 lbs, I am pregnant! We weren't trying because my doctor told us to wait until one year post-op, but this has been a miracle.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 and gained 90 lbs in one year - so up to 240 from 150. I've never had regular periods my entire life. Not since I got my first period when I was 11. We are talking 3, maybe 4 a year. Throughout my weight struggle I was on and off birth control pills and that was the only time my period came regularly. I went off bcp in May 2008 when I was around 300 lbs and we thought we would try to conceive. I really don't know what I was thinking wanted to put my body through that when I was so heavy - well, I do know - we just wanted a baby so bad. Fast forward 15 months til October 2009 - still not pregnant and I went in for the VSG at 324 lbs. Once I approached a 100 lb loss in March 2010, my periods miraculously became regular. My cycles from March-June were 28-32 days long. I couldn't believe it! I wasn't charting and my DH and I aren't *that* active in the bedroom. But lo and behold, my July period never came and I took a pg test and it came back positive. I NEVER thought it could be this easy for a cyster. I imagined years and years of fertility treatments and heartbreak. Now, I am cautious optimistic and know I'm not out of the woods yet. I also know this could truly be a miracle and I could have trouble getting pregnant again in the future. But for today, I am pregnant and am due March 2011.
Without WLS I would never be here today - it would have taken me years to lose the weight and start a family. We are so, so fortunate and I just wanted to give you ladies hope!

Tiny Bit of PCOS info
Is PCOS a hereditary condition?
Yes. Both sisters and daughters of women diagnosed with PCOS have a 50% chance of developing this syndrome
Researchers Believe There's a Genetic Link
According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, it is believed that PCOS does have a genetic link. The reason that researchers believe this is because Polycystic Ovary Syndrome does seem to run in families where both a mother and daughter or sisters become diagnosed with the condition. That being said, there is no medical evidence which shows that PCOS is a hereditary health condition. If you have a family member who has Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, there is a chance that you may also become diagnosed with the health condition in the future. If you recognize any of the symptoms which are similar to those of what your family member experiences because of PCOS, the best thing that you can do is visit the gynecologist.
