I haven't had surgery yet so I am not sure how my family will adjust with me.  I am not a big eater anyway so I won't miss that part but there are certain special holiday entrees I will miss.  We all usually bring something for each holiday so I will be bringing a healthy choice.

Do you miss eating these big meals? Actually I do not miss eating the big meals. Only because I would be miserable eating that much and plus now I realize just how much food I really was piling in my mouth and to me thats disgusting.

Does your family still have big meals?  My family does still have the big meals but thats ok with me. They can eat what they want when they want. Im not going to make comments about how much they eat, because I wouldnt want the comments of them saying, can you eat that? I still cook for my husband and I make what he wants, but I make healthier versions, and I add protein to his food but shhhh he doesnt need to know that!

has the menu changed due to your wls??  The menu has not changed except for healthier food being served. If it is something that I can not have then I just have something I can have. Or if I know that there will be nothing there taht I should have, I will pack my own food.

I definitely miss the big meals! I had my surgery right a month before Thanksgiving and that was tough. Then Christmas came shortly after and that was tough too. Menus don't change - I just pick at what I can. I just have to remind myself that it's supposed to be focused on family and friends, not food.

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.
