Pcos Support
Just an update...
So this is just s quick update for those who have been such a great support to me within the past few weeks. I had my surgery the 22nd of February. I was nervous as hell but knew I was in good hands. I had the sniffles, well more of a full blown out sinus infection. They contimplated on cancelling the surgery until I was better, until the surgeon told the other docs that it would take him another 3 months to be able to book me for a date. He said that is ridiculous and he was continuing with the surgery, because I was in good health otherwise. Then came the blur of things, I dont even remember going into the surgery room! Yeah they gave me some good stuff. The first thing I remember is waking up in ICU. It was about 1130 am and the nurse came right in when she noticed I was waking. She wanted to make sure I knew where I was and I was comfortable. Then came the docs. Well long story short, the nurses had shift change that night about 7pm. The new nurse guy came in with a bad attitude to begin with. Well needless to say all night he'd rather sit at his desk talking to another nurse about buying guns and **** rather than check on the patients. I buzzed 4 times before this nurse came in to help me to the restroom, I was doing the potty dance by the time he got me up. Well the rest of the night continued to be like this, where I was holding my bladder until someone came along to help. IT was awful. The next morning the new nurse came in as nice as nice can be and immediatly saw something was not right. I told her I hurt and that it hurt to pee. She immediatly got a doc on the phone and on his way down to me. Come to find out because I held my pee so long I came down with a UTI....ughhh the most awful pain! Well they ended up having to put a Foley in and assist me. That night I was taken to the other floor where they just take people who are recovering. I ended up have the foley taken out just to have another one put in the next day. A 2 day hospital stay turned into 4 days. OMG it was terrible. There were good and great nurses and there were bad horrible ones. Well they ended up sending me home with the catheter and told me it would be in for 2 weeks!!! Seriously 2 whole weeks I would have a bag of urine strapped to my leg..lol well come Tuesday(today) I had a visit with my surgeon about some concerns that I had and I asked to have it removed. Everything is fine now and I can finally get a peaceful nights rest. I am completely off pain meds! Anyways sorry this is so long, but what a horrible experience! Oh and also, 22 lbs gone forever!!!
