Hey Ladies,

My name is Jessica and I have been on this board off and on for 5 years. I FINALLY got approved and had RNY on 12.19.09.

I am newly married and it is my dream to one day have a child. I am patiently waiting and giving myself 18 months. I want to get to goal and be stable.

A month before surgery, my OBGYN put me on NuvaRing. I have been regular since. Every period since surgery (2 so far) have been HORRIBLE! The cramps are ridiculously bad. I can't take my usual Aleve and Vicodin ****tail when the pain comes, so I have got to figure something out.

My emotions are wacky though... oh and my tailbone hurts and I am freezing ALL THE TIME!

Okay that is all my "issues"... anyone else going through this?

I'm not familiar with the nuvaring or its side effects...it might be worth bringing up with your OB/GYN.  I do know that because of the weight loss that your hormones are in flux and that alone can cause funky periods and varied PMS symptoms.  As for your freezing all the time and tailbone pain...yeah...I'm with ya there.  Welcome to the club!

Sorry I couldn't answer more.

Hi Jessica!
Welcome!!

Might be something you want to talk to you obgyn about
however...i was on the nuvaring before and had the same problem...and i just couldn't handle it anymore... as of right now i got the implanon for my birth control...it goes in your arm and can last up to 3 years, and be taken out anytime you want..its really tiny..your arm hurts for a few days but after that totally fine... so maybe trying a new bc for you would work better then the nuvaring?!?
write you questions and concerns down, and just give you doctor a call or scheduale an appt

good luck girly, keep us up dated!!

Vicodin comes in Liquid form. For the first few months you may want to ask your doc for LorTab Elixir. But for the time being maybe crush your vicodin?

And as for freezing all the time... Have your doc check your iron levels. Additional iron and B-complex vitamins helps w iron levels and iron absorbtion!
