Do You All?!?!
This actually just started to become a problem for me..and I HATE it. I asked my hair stylist because what should I do and she recommended a facial hair removal cream..its at Rite-aide or Wal-greens about $10. And I love it, I use it only once every 2 to 3 weeks (I am a natural blond) and when you put it on you just leave it on for a short 2 mins.
I hoped that day never would come, but I guess as we get older we have to face reality.

I have had trouble with facial hair since I was 18. I started out plucking. It was just one two then three dark aggravating hairs. Then overnight it seemed to blossom into...OMG....I went from plucking to two years of electrolosis. I DO NOT recommend that. It was long sessions(at least an hour) expensive. I have permanent small areas of discoloration from damage done and IT DID NOT WORK. She kept saying that each square inch is capable of producing X numbers of hairs but when I see the large dark hairs coming back in what appears to be the same exact growth pattern??? I finally gave that up and started waxing. I had it done at the salon the first few times. Now I use a brazilian waxing kit. I love it. Yes it is a little painful but sooo much easier than shaving everyday and by evening having a stubble. Yes, I tried shaving it for a short amount of time. The Brazilian wax kit is VERY easy to use. You warm the wax up in the microwave. No strips. Apply directly to face, let it harden a little then rip off. It really grabs onto the those stubborn thick black hairs. I usually wax about once every 3-4 weeks. I have noticed since surgery, I have lost a little over 60 lbs, that my hair growth has gone down ALOT. I actually waxed today and was sooo happy when I looked down at the wax strips. There was so much less hair!!! (yes, its kinda cool to look at the hair sticking out from the wax strip...lol)) Oh, I had also tried bleaching before electrolysis but with dark hair they sometimes kinda turn a little orange. I also tried hair remover cream, three different brands but they burned my skin a little( not real bad or alot) but the bad thing is they didn't remove the hair. Anyway.. sorry so long but that has been my experience with the fun of facial hair..lol Hope that helps. My next step is laser hair removal, but if my hair growth continues to lighten I will wait to see how it does before I commit to that.
I shave the sides of my face and under my chin. Since surgery I've had to shave every day (I used to be able to shave every other day). I also have noticed the hair on my upper lip getting darker and longer. Bleaching doesn't cut it anymore. So I guess I'll start shaving that too. I guess my hormones are out of whack. Once I've reached my goal weight I'm getting laser.
I started at 324lbs and a size 26. After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011. My second daughter was born in September 2013. I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs. I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter. The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls. My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.
I have had PCOS since I was 13. I have dark hair, and always looked like I had a mustache. My mom used to try bleaching, but that discolored my skin, so I get manicuring scissors, and cut the hairs. In my early 20's, I started using the Sally Hansen cream remover, but that was too harsh on my sensitive skin. I finally tried the Nair cream for face, and that works WONDERFUL! It says not to leave on for more than 5 minutes to 10 minutes, but because I have course dark hair under my chin, and on my lip, I leave it on for 20 minutes. It can leave a chemical burn if you are not careful, so just try the shortest amount of time, and work up to what you need to get it all off. My facial hair grows fast, so I use Nair twice a week. I hate my "manly hair" so much! I have been told that laser does not work well for people with PCOS, just because our hair is much courser and grows more than normal. Since loosing weight, I noticed my hair growing faster and thicker too, while the hair on my head is falling out! :-( Sure wi**** was my facial hair falling out! hee hee!
