New to the Group

Hi!  I just join the group!  I had an RNY on Sept. 30th of 08.  I lost 50% of my excess weight in 3 months and have been loosing 2-3 lbs. a week since (just celebrated 6 months).  I'm really happy with the way things have been going and I feel great!  I'm actually wearing a size that I haven't worn since middle school!  My biggest issue is probably finding good protein snack and making myself eat them!  I usually eat breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and dinner, but my nut wants me to eat an afternoon and evening snack.  Any ideas are welcome!

WOW Daisy you are doing fantastic!!! Have you tried the Bariatric Choice protein bars?  They are super good. As well as the Doctor Kracker snack chips.  I have also found a good old slim jim and a hunk of cheese makes a great snack!  Roll some roast beef (spread with cream cheese) oh yummmmmmy!!!

Also for a protein shake, CHIKENUTRITION.COM has awesome shakes!  I LOVE mixing the vanilla and orange, it tastes just like orange sherbert!  OH SO GOOD! ALL of their flavors are good.

What about a little tuna and boiled egg?  tuna is super high in protein!

Thanks for the great ideas!  I went to my nut yesterday and she suggested mixing craisons with almonds or soy nuts.  She also said to check out other nonsweatened dried fruits for snacks.  My protein numbers (from my labs) were great, but I need to eat more fruits!  So...I made up a bunch of snack bags with dried fruit and nuts.  We'll see how that works.

Snacking is touch for me too,  I have never been much of a snack person and the only ones I am good with are BAD for me.  a lot of peole snack on cheese that I see but I have not really started snacking since my Dr is one that says not to.  Goi figure, they all have diffrent ideas LOL
