I am new here but dont see too many post.  So lets get it going :-)

I am a  VSG patient and have been losing 2 lbs a week steady from the beginning, no big weeks (other than week one) and only one week with no loss, but then I lost 4 lbs the next week.  MY question is, I hear that weight loss slows down at 6 months.  Is this an all of a sudden thing or a slow change?  Just curious since 6 months comes on the 22nd for me.  i would love to keep losing at this rate untill I get to goal but know that is not a reasonable thing to expect.

I am a pretty hyper person LOL so maybe I will rub off on the others.  If a couple of us post once a day it wont take long to rub off!

As for my 2 lbs a week I am estatic about it.  At first when I was losing 2 lbs in month 2 it scared me because I figured it would slow down before now.  But now I have basically come to realize that this is my weight loss rate.  I am sure it will slow down eventually (it really will have to at some point) but untill then I am enjoing it!

Hi everyone!  I'm new to the group, and new to the sleeve as well.  I had a gastric band implanted in June '08, which slipped and resulted in emergency surgery in Sept '08.  I elected to revise the band on my surgeon's advice that he had never seen one slip twice, and then mine did!  After spending the last most of February and all of March approximately 80% obstructed, I had the band removed last week & converted to a sleeve.

I've lost 13 pounds in the last 10 days with the sleeve, compared to ZERO pounds lost in the last 6 months that I had the band.  Also, no more puking, refluxing in my sleep, and no more pain/bleeding in my esophagus.  I know it hasn't been very long, but I am SO happy I switched to the sleeve!

Emily, I can only hope to share a fraction of your success!  2 pounds a week is great, and they say you really shouldn't lose any faster than that anyway.  I absolutely LOVE your idea of setting monthly goals.  I think I will steal that idea, if you don't mind!

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I will likely be picking your brains from time to time.
Looking forward to a bright future,
Natalie

Pick away!  I am no expert but my sleeve is great.  I feel normal.  I just ate about 2/3 of a sandwich and am very full.  Now this was a small sandwich, I took the top of a burger bun and split it in half so I could have 2 pieces of bread LOL.  I was tired of teh open face type.
As for goals I set monthly ones because they are easier to keep in sight and it gives me multiple victories.  My main goal is months away and even 10 pounds can take more than a month.  I am the type of Gal that likes to celebrate every chance I get so the monthly give me more excuses!
