HI!

I am very excited about this event and we are kind of having a "girl's weekend" also.  Hope to meet you there it is sure to be a great time!

The clothing exchange is for both men and women and if you can find things for your hubby, feel welcome to take them.  Just remember tobring bags for your treasures.

As far as the fashion show, I agree---I have many of the same questions that you do and hopefully, Kim (or someone from OH) will answer them shortly..........

This fashion show I rerad about....

Do we bring our own clothing for this?

Should it be dressy or casual?

Swimsuit??   (Laughing).....NOT going to happen from me!

The before pic.....should we submit it now or bring it with us?

The clothing exchange I read about.....

Will there be men needing clothing as well??  Superhubby is banded as well and between the two of us we have a mountain of clothes that are too big for us and they need to GO!

Hubby isn't coming along since it's a girls weekend!  (   no boys allowed!)  but, if I brought some of his clothing to contribute would anyone mind my getting a few items for him in return??

I have many more questions but will pace myself for now!!

Thank so much for any feedback!

Topic: I'm counting the days to chicago!
Hi everyone,  I'm Becka!

I'm from Kentucky and will be attending the Chicago event.  I'n eagerly awaiting this trip as about 7 (or was that 8?) of us from the KY/IN boards are using this as a "gals weekend away" from the spouses and kids!

I was banded about 19 months ago and am 80% to my goal.  These last 20-ish are refusing to go anywhere without a fight!

I'm looking forward to meeting new people and putting real faces to names I have seen on OH.

Anyone else counting the days??

There a couple gals from the KY board that were wondering about the Fashion show...how do you sign up? What do you wear? etc.....

Topic: Additional Speakers at Chicago
Hello!

Just a quick note to let you know that we have received confirmation on two additional breakout speakers, Dr. Amir Heydari, and Dr. Constantine Frantzides.  Both are fantastic bariatric surgeons in the Chicago area, and we're extremely happy that each of them has agreed to provide our attendees with the best information on weight loss surgery. Keep watching for more updates as we receive confirmations.  We will also post this on the website very soon.

Have a nice day!

lol, well i'll bring some of my old clothes to drop off and just check back later in the day to see if there actually ARE any smaller sizes. (doubtful but hey, it's worth a shot i suppose, hehe.) i'm thinking about maybe checking out some thrift/consignment stores while i'm in the area. any good ones that you could recommend?

good luck with the sorting clothes, etc!! i would've volunteered but a) i didn't know about it and b) i'm actually attending the conference with a good friend and it's sorta like a "mini-vacation" for us, lol, so i wouldn't want to leave her high and dry or anything but i'm sure it's gonna be LOTS of fun for y'all getting to meet so many people and everything!! maybe i'll get to go to a conference later on and could volunteer for something like that... it sounds like a lotta work but FUN work

see ya there!

Topic: RE: A BIG Thank you to OH's Clothing Exchange Volunteers!
Hi Deb!

It is SO cool that you will be coming to this event from so far away.  Congratulations on the great job that you are doing and you should have a great time celebrating your first surgiversary in Chicago with us!

Hopefully, Kim will jump in here with the definitive answer, but I would certainly think that there would at least be a restroom to try on clothes close by the exchange table.  This is my first time volunteering, and my liturature does not address this question, but I'm sure Kim will know!

I really look forward to meeting you!

Good morning!

I have never attended one of these before either, as this is my first time volunteering for this event.

The best answer that I can think of to your question would be, "I don't know...."
Most people will be bringing clothes that no longer fit them and the first thought would be that they would be clothes that are too big for them now that they have had surgery amd lost weight.    BUT....I suppose that it IS possible that someone might bring very small sizes if they no longer have a use for them or are hoping to exchange with others that have very small clothes.

I'm looking forward to meeting you at the conference!
