Gosh, how good you are! Me,  I would just enjoy the cake and bin the Atkins bars. Unless you are there for a month!

Enjoy Paris. One of my favourite cities, I lived there many years ago!

Next week in Paris I may need to eat a little CAKE!!!!

Even with a free Continental Breakfast I'll still be able to stay high-protein as eggs are included.  Just need to pack my Atkins meal replacement bars...

We'll pay for Alex to go away for a week, but we're having a 5 day break in Paris - YAY!  In the UK you're paid if you're in the Volunteer Reserves, otherwise not.  When I was in the cadets I went to Germany and Singapore on camps.  Still raining here, complete with flood alerts in many areas...

The weather sounds horrible.  Boy there is no rain like England ...well maybe Russia.  I hope it clears soon.  I can imagine the property damage is terrible.   Take care ...I'm thinking about you   Jenn

Sorry to hear you had to cut your trip short.  My  eldest daughter was in air cadets growing up and she loved it. She would go away for 6 weeks in the summer and they would pay her to go!   Are they paying Alex to go? Glad to hear you have a nice day to hang out wash , I love sun kissed laundry. It's great to hear how much you have lost and are continuing to lose.  I have no doubt you will shed those pesky 10lbs.  Well here is to clear sky's .   Enjoy the rest of your weekend

RAF Fairford for the biggest airshow in the world.  Very wet but brilliant.  Alex, our 14 yr old, wants to join the RAF - if there's any left!  He has a place at an Air Cadets camp for a week later this month, so Janice and I will have three or four days in Paris.
Sunday we used our discretion and came home.  We're in a flood alert area (about 600 ft up) LOL!!  Currently hanging out washing in the sunshine....
Lost 2 pounds in the last three months, so 9 stone and two pounds.  Yes, the two pounds are very important!  Would like to lose another ten pounds, don't care how long it takes, just want to get rid of it.

UK weather is erratic! We don't have a dry season as such, any season can be anything! But this year is extraordinary. We had the wettest April, May, June since records began, back in the C19th.  Not only have we had rain almost every day, we have had lots of outbreaks of torrential rain when s normal  month's rainfall falls in a day.

The ground is saturated so new rainfall just runs off into rivers rather than soaking in, so swelling rivers to bursting point and overflowiing. The rain is so heavy sometimes that drains can't cope and so people who don't live anywhere near rivers are also getting flooded.

But it is not like in Russia where over 100 people died last week in floods. Here a couple of people have died, the damage is to property

Is it really bad ...the weather ? I thought this was the dry season.... But I like the rain and tonight the heat has lifted and it is cool out finally.  I hope things get better soon. Just wait for the winter where I am the snow comes and the city comes to a stand still and I have had flooding also when the snow begins to melt.   Stay dry and I hope the weather lets up soon. Over here, most of us will be doing one of the following:-

Getting sandbags ready to repel water
Mopping up from the last flood
Checking insurance details
Buying extra wellington boots
Putting waist high waders on to go shopping
Looking at at cosmetic surgery sites to see how much it costs to get webbed feet
Sitting in front of the TV watching Wimbledon finals
Applying to emigrate to a dry country.
