A banana split?!  Boy, I feel a carb coma coming on, not to mention dumping big time, just thinking about it!

I never used to care for splits, but put me in close proximity to Rocky Road ice cream and "Katie, bar the door"!  (That's hillbilly American for "Watch out for the disaster!")

Glad to say I don't get that same kick anymore about junque food.  Sure makes life simpler.

Yes, they do sound lovely; I've never cared for the thick frosting on cakes, etc., and usually removed it so I could eat the cake with a minimum of frosting on it.

So those little sugar beads are the rascals in the recipe!  We call them "sprinkles" here.

Thank you ladies!

can be either round like these or in little strands. Fairy cakes are not like cup cakes; not the thick glaze. icing is just made with icing sugar and water.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

The little brightly multi-coloured sugar sprinkles that you sometimes see on ice cream or cakes - we had them last night on a banana split

Hi, cousins;  I was just reading the Guardian.uk.co and was fascinated by a recipe for "Fairy Cakes".  They sound enchanting (!) but at the end of the article, the writer called for "hundreds and thousands".

What the heck??  Please give me a hint as to what these are??!

Thanks,

Thanks for the support everyone!  I have good news!!!!

I wrote a letter of complaint to the hospital and cc'd the chief bariatric surgeon.  Thankfully, the surgeon read his e-mail and responded straight away with an apology and a request that I start the pre-op diet.  He cannot guarantee that I will have my surgery this month, but he has asked me to come to his surgery on July 9th and says that he will do his very best to get me a surgery slot sometime between July 17th-21st.  Cross your fingers!!!

Thanks! Noted and saved! I am not a low carb follower and imagine the cals are no different to ordinary flour but I love the idea of doing this!  Especially tehe pizza ideas. And, of course, extra protein and nut oils!
