It's official, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.  After much confusion, I have been given a surgery slot and I am getting ready to start my new, post-op life.  Apparently there was a cancellation (me?) and they were able to fit me into July rather than having to wait for September.  My new life starts on July 20, 2010.  Yay!!!!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the silliness that has happened in the past few weeks.

You must feel fabulous!!!  I haven't been able to see the photos yet, the inter net is running very slowly for me at the moment.  Congratulations!

I did it, I did it, I did it - I finished my 30 day running plan.  I did not deviate from the plan and for my reward, today I ran for 2 miles without stopping, and I still had plenty to give. I've entered a 5k fun run to keep me motivated omg seems kinda surreal.

So to remind me where I've come from I've finally found the courage (just) to post my real before pictures  and some updated ones to celebrate passing my halfway mark, and achieving my running goals.  Sorry all for the super tight running vest, but they are expensive and I don't have the luxury to keep buying (and the nature reserve that I run round is very quiet), so its all on show!!!

Piccies are on my profile as I can't get them to paste here

This is me about 2 weeks before surgery 21st 4lbs (298lbs) I look tired and unhealthy and everything was an effort.  I had to grit my teeth and plaster on a smile to have these taken for the record.  One day I'll look at these and be proud at how far I've come.

5 mths in, and down 81lbs, I feel so much better, and no longer feel like I should wear an apology on my shirt.  (Shhhhhh a side profile is a lot less flattering, but don't tell anyone)

On this day I completed my 30 day running plan and ran 2 miles non stop - 5 months ago I couldn't even tell you if I could run for more than 10 seconds.  Still a long way to go, but life has already changed.  My partner loves me in this top hmmmmm wonder what 2 things affect that!!!

I read your post yesterday, and didn't respond - which is soooooo totally unlike me lol, today I asked myself why. Yes I am willing to join in with a little fighting from the fat corner, but its easier to fight when somebody gives you an idea as to how to punch.

You come up with a firm idea, and I will join in your fight with the little bit I can from my corner.

Ouch, glad you got sorted. Why is standing up for yourself when you know things aren't right so hard to do, and its even more embarrassing to say "I've been on the internet" ......... you can almost hear the proffessionals groan - but it is a good thing that we are in a better position these days to help take our health into our own hands.  I will recall your story next time I'm scared to voice my opinion.

Onederland huh! Bloody fabulous is the only way to describe it - good work, I too lurrrvvv wls - BRING IT ON
