On the NHS??? Wowee! That's great! Lucky you! A friend in my PCT area has just been turned down as she "only" had a BMI of 41 BuT she has serious other health issues like she has major hip and leg problems which mean that when she is overweight she can hardly walk.
Which surgery type? You probably said in an earlier post but i have forgotten.

I hope you are as proud of yourself as you deserve to be. This is an amazing accomplishment!
Kate I'm getting there, as we all know, mentally this journey is harder than it is physically though.

Well exactly 2 weeks ago today I went to see my doctor and when I got home this evening there was a letter from the PCT saying I'd been accepted and I just need to pick my hospital out of the ones they listed (all two of them )
Thank you all so much for the information and support. I know this is just the start of a very long journey but I am so excited about it.

Got home today and there was a letter from the PCT to say I'd been accepted. Phew! I just wanted to sit down and cry. Stupid eh?
I've got a choice of 2 hospitals now - unfortunately neither of them were the ones I'd hoped for but I'll check them out and see which one I prefer.
Binty - I hope you don't mind me asking but I also live in Northants and I wondered where you had your surgery done? I was surprised they didn't offer me Northampton or Leicester. I've got a choice of Birmingham Heartlands or Luton.
Thanks so much for the support guys.
