Think i wrote wrong time on last post. We are meeting at 2 not 2:30, but not to worry - we will still be there at 2:30.
Easy to find restaurant. 4th floor, Selfridges, top of one of the sets of escalators.
Looking forward to meeting you! You have my photo (I am a stone heavier!!), Jacky is blonde. Not sure who else is coming.

I do a very similar one except I use Ritz crackers - Ryvita would be healthier!! I serve it with mash and onion sauce (with thick chopped not fine chopped onions). Never tried carrot in it, but i do put in a fine chopped green pepper. I also put a bit of tomato ketchup on top for the last 1/2 hour and let it go sticky and caramelised on top.
And if all the excess fat is drained off (an horrendous amount comes out!), not too bad for us!
I am actually making one tomorrow and am planning to add carrot now I have seen this!

People who have gastric bypass or duodenal switch (much more major surgeries than ours) lose part of their stomach / intestines. This means that a lot of the food they eat does not get absorbed by the body and just passes straight through.
It is not quite as simple as the example i am about to give because it depends on the type of food they eat but if we bandsters ate 1000 calories of food, our body takes in 1000 calories. A bypass patient might just take in 800 and someone with the DS might take in 500. DS people in particular can eat large amounts and still lose (e.g almost all fats go straight through them).
These are not exact figures so any people with bypass or DS who might read this - it is only to explain the concept, not be precisely accurate! I am sure West would appreciate any info from you!

Please don't plan t lose any fixed amount! There simply is no way of telling. Bandsters do not malabsorb and so there is no reason why we would lose any faster than someone who is following a Weigh****chers programme.
In very general terms, the heavier you are the more quickly the pounds come off but even that is only a generalisation.
The tendency is, as with any diet, to lose more the first week or so and then slow down. Hope for the bandster average of 1 - 2 lbs a week and be pleased if you manage more. The band does nothing whatsoever except limit portion size and delay hunger. And even that doesn't happen until you get restriction and that can take several fills.
You may lose your weight fast but don't set high goals! If you miss them you will just feel like a failure.

I know it probably seems really nosey, but would you consider going on the thread at the top of the board to tell us just a little bit more about yourself - I'm not being pushy (lol, some may disagree hahaha) but it can be really disconcerting not knowing at least a little, for instance I talk on these boards to people from teens to retirees, from students to professionals ....... but of course if you like the anonymity don't let me change your mind, I was just wondering :-)
I'm feeling really well - I'm going through the stage of absolutely everyone noticing my weight loss, when I take the kids to school in the mornings there are always comments and people looking me up and down. It partly gives me a massive boost of course, but there is also the part of me that still feels like the fat girl trying to hide from being looked at and I'm a little uncomfortable being the centre of attention - it'll be nice when it all dies down and I can disappear into being just normal slim old me - well thats the dream, lol!
