Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I agree, when we manage to get the surgery we seem to be very motivated with fewer moans.

It's a shame that we're not able to support this one group, but I will continue to post news and comment, we might see a revival in interest...

All the best

Sadly, seems like it!

Just not enough of us Brits to keep it going!

And although it sounds daft, people post more when they have issues and we seem to have a lower proportion of these than in the US. Seems to me that it is harder for us to get surgery - the NHS is reluctant and so if they do pay, we have had a lot of hoops to jump through and the rest of us are self-pay. Also we don't do much elective surgery anyway over here.

So it may be we take it a bit more seriously! So avoiding common problems to some extent. I so often read on the other boards of people breaking rules and then being surprised when things go wrong!

Don't get me wrong - things can go wrong which are in no way the fault of the person with wls! But risks can be mimimised. The fact that band success rates (for example) are better over here (I am told) may reflect that.

Re: the Xian stuff--I learned who they are and just ignore them.

I have just recently posted more because I have more access to the internet.  I'd moved to the remotest, wettest corner of the usa and don't have web access in my home yet, so have to go out to the library, only have a few hours daily to check in on OH.

Enjoy your new life!!

Hi Lynn, nobody here but us chickens.  It's sad, but many Brits aren't joiners.

I'm on the Atkins Board and I read the vsg board occasionally, but there's very little that's appropriate for me.  The xian propaganda on the main board put me off, I'd rather just ignore it.  I see you posting occasionally, and I'll visit the Brit Board every now and again, just in case there's some recovery.  All the best, Paul.

Hurrah for you!  There's nothing like being able to look in the mirror and see the guy you were in 1973.

This site seems to have tapered off;  surely there are more folks in the UK getting wls surgery.

Don't be afraid to come to the main board for company once in a while.

Yesterday I bought a pair of 36 inch trousers, a lovely fit.  I had to buy a pair of 38 inch trews in the January Sales in 1973, after leaving the RAF.  It's only taken 38 years to lose that 2 inches!  Haven't lost a single pound for over a month, but my belly keeps shrinking...  Life is very good.

Hi Paul...I'll be in Liverpool next week. I'm hoping to have a bit of fish and chips while I'm there. You can't get the good stuff here LOL...congrats on your surgery. I know a lot of VGS patients and they all do very well. I'm in the maintenance portion now. I really don't want to lose any more weight and I never thought I'd say that!!

Hi Plennon.  At the moment this board seems to be on life support, but I'm hoping for a recovery...  Been to Florida 5 times over the last 10 years, mainly to visit the Mouse.  I had a vsg 14 months ago, don't eat out very often, mainly Chinese, and have just started on Atkins so I'm afraid I'm not much use to you at the moment.  Hope you enjoy Liverpool!
