This may be Too Much Information!!!!
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
38 years? No time at all! So now you feel like a mere youngster as you were back then. Let's see - 1973, skin tight trousers with flared bottoms????

Lynn, it is a shame if the board dies on us! But I think there are several factors:
Many, many fewer wls ops in the UK
Brits aren't generally good at soul-baring and group therapy and message boards are a bit that way!
As we don't have insurance, we have to either fight the NHS to get our surgery or pay ourselves. It may be that this means that if we end up getting surgery, we are very determined! As many people only post when they have problems, it may be that the determination pays off. By no means all but definitely quite a few of those who post Qs or worries on the lb board are simply poorly educated about wls and expected more than the band can give.
Might be rubbish! But I have been told by one of the most anti-band people on the boards (WasaBB) that UK stats for the band are better than US ones. Certainly that seems to be the case from my own experience. Of all the UK bandsters I have met, all bar one have been successful and that one lost her band for non-band related causes.

Doing as Paul suggests - just checking in every now and then just in case the board bursts back into life.
5 years ago I was morbidly obese, I was a lazy, inactive lump in dark. dismal,. baggy clothes - size 26+.
Now, and for the past 3 1/2 years, I have been slim, active and energetic! I no longer consider it necessary to do any real training for 5ks and I am about to start training for my first 1/2 marathon in September. And this at aged 60!
I chase my grandchildren and carry the smallest one up Lake District fells. I go up stairs two at a time. And I wear (UK size!) size 12 clothes.
Wls has changed my life. Very possibly prolonged it. And even if I fall under that proverbial bus, the quailty of life I have today is worth every second and every penny of that operation!!

I'll try and check in more, if that helps a little
