I know some of you may still be lurking here. Maybe you are happy in lurk-mode..which is fine too! But-if you would like to jump in with some thoughts or questions, please feel safe to do so here. There are MANY decent folks here who will be of great help and support!!!

Me? OMG-I totally over scheduled myself this week. I am NOT shocked. Pfft. I am starting work around 9am and working until about 10pm. It's only Tuesday and I am already fried. Hey-I put myself here though. Typical of me to create a distraction!

Anyone else spread themselves too thin???

Hugs all!

Peace,
T

This is the thing about having WLS. The AMAZING gift of ditching the meds! Little by little I have been shedding mine as well.

I have one final tough one which I plan to ditch in the New Year with the help of a pain management team. I am LOOking forward to it!!!

It's a gift...that keeps on giving!

Work, finish a portrait of my wife(maybe....) and take Alex to Air Cadets.

Just tried to order Atkins bars for the cruise and they're out of stock of the ones I like the most, so may have to take some Boots diabetic bars.

Came off my last blood pressure tablet, halved  my lipitor dose AND came off Gliclizide.  This means I'm only on Metformin and Sitagliptin for diabetes and the lowest dose of Lipitor possible!!!!!!!!!  Before the op I was on 18 tablets at maximum strength and Insulin with nowhere left to run....

Have a great week!.

Hi all,

I am back! Monday cometh tomorrow and that is not the most FUN thing I can think of! I am still having a tough time learning not to be a workaholic. There has GOT to be a middle ground. I think for so many years my job was my ONLY self worth. Now-there are other things in life to consider. Just thinking out loud-I need to start seeing what I can do about that!

Went out and about with hubby this afternoon and went to go visit sister-in-law. These don't seem like major things, but the are important steps in normalizing my life and ensuring I get "out there"-even if for a little bit each day or so.

In other news-hubby is on iTunes!!! Yep! I am bursting my buttons proud LOL! And...there is more. In November he wants to go back to the studio to finish another CD he has been toying with for a few years now. AND-I get to do some back up singing on it. I keep telling him "Aw, you are sweet! You are going to let me sing and then turn my volume down, aren't you? LOL!

Hope you are all doing well today. IF you are out there-I would REALLY love to know what you have in store for this week.

Peace!
T

LOVE your post and I will be HURT if you don't swing by good old Lancashire!!

I have been thinking a LONG time about taking a photography course-as you said..life is too short! I need to stop trying to figure out WHAT I am waiting for and just do it!!

Thanks Paul and CONGRATS on your nearing pension! The tour sounds absolutely fabulous. I've got a cousin the USA  who is an avid motorcyclist (lives in Washington DC) and just took a whirlwind spin from there to California-then headed north to Las Vegas and back home.

Sounds like a WONDERFUL plan!!

Cheers,
Therese

Do please hijack posts on a regular basis!

End of October we'll be spending a week cruising in the Med.  December I have a course on oil portraits from photographs, February will see me on a Chinese Brush Painting Portraiture Course.  I'm a great people watcher....

If you have some free time during the week there are courses run by the local council on things like photography, painting, drawing and so on.  I need to retire as I could go to one or two classes every day!

In two years time I'll get my NHS pension and will do a round Britain tour on the motorcycle of my dreams, probably raising money for charity.  We could always meet then - gives you plenty of time to think up excuses LOL+LMAO!!  This also applies to anyone else wanting to suffer my company!

Life's too short not to bite its' bum!

I hope all is well for you. We are making our way into Winter. Hopefully you have some interesting things you are looking forward to it!

Cheers and thanks so much for your post!

Welcome back!  Support is what we friends are for.  I'm naturally a very shy introvert - I just act as if I'm an extrovert.  Works for me, but not for everyone.  Hugs  :-)

Your surgery better than mine?  I've read the research that says rny brain dumping works!!  LOL  Good to hear from you, and that you're doing so well.
I came off another two tablets last Wednesday and am so ready for our half-term cruise in the Med.  Walking five times a week, breathless for half an hour.
Do keep in touch, even if you have to arm wrestle for the use of a laptop!
