Topic: RE: Come out, come out! Whatcha doing this week?
I'm supposed to be retired. But my ex-school (actually the school isn't ex, that would be me!) keeps calling me in to do supply cover. Now supply is good - no planning, no marking, no reports and the kids still knwo me well enough for me not to have the discipline problems supply teahcers traditionally face.
So Monday - working
Tuesday - going on long walk with friends
Wed - decorating bedroom
Thurs - fracture clinic (still got crack in my foot after being knocked down by motorbike in hanoi last Nomvember)
Friday - going to see grandson in Wales
Good luck with jobs. How nice to make new start - I did that in my mid 30s and had total career change.

Hello!
I am very busy this week with work. I am a Primary School Teacher, and currently teach a reception class (4-5 year olds). i absolutely love it, and have a lovely little class, they keep me on my toes lol!
I'm looking forward to Friday though, as we have 2 weeks holiday for Easter, so am gonna chill out, maybe go to the cinema- there are 2 films I want to see at the moment 'Knowing' and 'The Haunting in Conecticut'. I went to see Marley and Me last week, it was so sad, I was crying my eyes out!
I hope you are successful in your job hunt, and find something you really enjoy. I was unemployed for a few months and hated it, but was really lucky to get this job,and am so happy even though it's hard work. People often think teachers have an easy life, but it is hard work, and doesn't stop when the bell rings at 3.30pm!
I am getting married in July (18th), so am very excited! We have done most of the planning, just have some things to finalise now. We have just finished paying for our honeymoon- we are going to the Riviera Maya in Mexico!
I have ordered my dress already, as they take 6 months to make, and ordered a slightly smaller size, but not a too small. The lady informs me that they can be taken in up to 5 dress sizes, so I'm sure it'll look fine, and she is an excellent seamstress! I'm hopin it'll need taking in a fair bit by then! It's so exciting to not have to have a UK size 30 dress. We have been engaged for a while, but I kept putting off setting a date as I didn't want to be a fat bride, and now I won't be!!
Anyway thats enough of my rambling!
Take care everyone!
Vicky

Hi all!
Did you see we have some new members? Welcome all!
I would like to know what you all do with your time. Nosy aren't I? LOL!
Where do you work. At home? Somewhere else?
I used to work in the software industry for many years. Since I recently moved I don't know WHAT I am going to be when I grow up! I have the chance to go a completely different direction if I wish. Not that there are many jobs right now and I DO need to find one. But I think it's time to follow my passion a bit more closely.
I have lots of irons in the fire and I HOPE I get some offers in the near future.
So, share with us what you do!
Peace,
T

Topic: RE: You made it! Welcome! Come introduce yourself.
Aww wow! I loved Cardiff Uni when I went to visit, but thought it was too far away from home, so ended up going to Aberystwyth instead which I LOVED!!! My father lives in Newport, but we live more in the middle!! We're very close to the border (between Oswestry and Welshpool). I love it here, have lived here nearly all of my life, apart from my time in Aber! I started teaching in a Welsh Medium School in September, and it's great! Only a small school, but it's better, everyone knows everyone, and the kids are so nice!!

Miss Redd, I think it will take a long time to get many posters! We Brits just don't talk as openly about things like WLS as they seem to in the US (the other people on here may not agree with me, but that is my perception).
I have been lucky - I have enough loose skin to clothe a baby elephant but I have no physical ill effects from 25 years + of obesity. I have renewed energy and stamina and am enjoying my post-weight loss life to the very fullest!
My next trip is to the States! Spending about 4 weeks in New England in the autumn (sorry - the fall!!). Have had lots of great invites from OH regulars - after all some of us have "known" each other for about three years.
In which part of the UK are you living? (You don't need to be exact if you prefer not!)

Vicky, DH and I spend much time in Wales. We lived in Draethen and then Penarth for 10 years; I went to Cardiff University as did my eldest daughter and my son. My middle daughter went to Swansea! Vicky and her Welsh-speaking husband live in Pontypridd and Becky and her very Welsh but not Welsh speaking husband live in Newport.

It's great to see a variety of different people here already! I am so glad that we will all be able to support each other on our journeys!
I am stepping up on the exercise from tomorrow, I've written myself a little routine out, gonna see how it goes, and increase/decrease the intensity depending on how get on!
I must say that seeing how well you have done when you started out at about the same weight as me has really inspired me, I CAN do it, and it may be slower now that I'm further out, but I WILL get there!
Where abouts in Wales is you husbands concert? What sort of musician is he? I love watching live music, we're lucky in Wales, they call it the land of song so there is always a concert/band to see!
Take Care

Hi Kate!
Well you know it means SO much to me to have you here and I know how important your anonymity has been for you! Knowing your stellar success-I can't help but think you can only be an incredible asset here!!
I am interested in hearing more about your trips!! Do you keep a travel blog as well?? I am SO looking forward to my range of motion improving. I am currently dealing with the path of devastation my excess weight has left. My feet have become flat and the spurs have gotten worse. Plus I have some joint deterioration in my knees and hips.
I struggle with the feelings of frustration and sadness at times that I have done SO well yet I could not heal these parts! However-I am doing what I CAN do today. That means I continue to stretch and take the walks I can tolerate. I have new inserts for my shoes coming and will be sleeping with splits to help stretch out my calves at night. NOT very glamorous-but needed!
My goal for this year is to become brave enough to get myself into a swimming pool! I KNOW that is what I need and I need to get past the skin issues-etc.
But-like all of you-I am WILLING to do what I need to do to keep my success and build my health!!
Kate-I really can't thank you enough for your willingness to help and reach out.
THANK YOU!
Peace,
T
