Just had my 6 month check-up.  I'm a vsg, so no problems with malabsorbtion.  I just take a 50+ multivitamin everyday as I'm a diabetic.

 Just re-read, you say a dearth of info not supplies, sorry!

Each NHS Trust issues guidelines as to what supplements are needed for the different surgeries as, of course, do all the private providers. If we have issues, there are specialist Bariatric Clinics attached to all the major NHS hospital trusts. In addition, most GP surgeries ( family doctors) have nutritionists for free consultation.

My own dietician supplied me with all the necessary info and is always at the end of an e mail, as is the bariatric specialist nurse at my local NHS hospital.

We cannot get standard supplements like vitamins free from our docs and need to buy those but any specialist need would be provided for us. If for example we needed sublingual b12 or whatever.

I really am not aware of it being an issue.

 Is there a supply problem! I hadn't realised! Perhaps as a bandster I don't need so much but I do know a couple of RNY people and they have never said they have a problem

Hey, Ms Redd;

I was wondering if there were any plans for a blanket post re: available protein sources and
good suppliers of vitamins & supplements in the UK?

I know here in the US not everyone knows where to start, and from what I've read about the
NHS and the UK, there's not a lot of info readily available.

What do you think??
