I'm not fat and forty, I'm fit and forty and 8 1/2 stone lighter.  Woooohoooooo.  I'm now squeezing into the odd size 14 jeans, which feels like nothing short of a miracle.

Me and the family went indoor skydiving yesterday to celebrate my 40th, it was amazing, I'm still buzzing.  I was always a sporty teen, and have really missed it, and getting my fitness and flexibility back is just the most amazing feeling.  I'm determined not to waste it without appreciating it this time round ......... so skydiving it was, didn't fancy chucking my kids out of a plane and I wanted to share my experience with all the family, so indoor seemed like the sensible choice.  We had an absolute blast, it was just so much fun.  Its unbelievable the difference a year makes.

Me at 21st 4lbs (298lbs) earlier this year, and every day of my life involved effort and joint pain.

Now at 12st 8lbs (176lbs) and happy to be doing the things that made me depressed this time last year.  I'll not grow old gracefully.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  And I must be a lousy mother - i often dreamed of throwing my kids out of a plane from a great height.

We have just bought my daughter a voucher for indoor skydiving for Xmas! Sounds really good fun!

Thanks for your advice to Becky (the non-sky-diving daughter!!) about child minding!
