Oh-My-Goodness!!!

I have been missing!!!

Here is my news:

My son is getting married November-he is 26 and lives in Alaska.

AND

They are expecting a baby March/April!!! OMG!! LOL!

I got the news just days before my 45 birthday which was on the 22 of August!

Amazingly enough-I had JUST changed my hours at work from Full time to Part time. Long story-but I came to an emotional end of my rope and decided I would rather we be skint that have me suffering as I have done.

So-we shall have a poor but happy Christmas and we have taken our last few pounds and gotten two round trip tickets to Alaska for the November wedding.

Ah life-Crazy isn't it???

Hope you are all doing well!!!

Hugs and Peace,
T

45 is YOUNG!! And being a Granny is the best thing ever!!  All the joys of your own children but much less day to day stress!

Mind you,  it opens a whole new layer of maternal anxiety. Now you will worry about your son, as all mothers do. Then you will worry about your grandchild. And then you will worry about what your son would feel if anything happened to the grandchild.

Sorry about the job being difficult - I thought it was good - just like your US one!

Alaska in November? Pack those woollies. And watch out for polar bears and. even more dangerous, Sarah Palin.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Aw, thanks Kate!!

LOL about Sarah Palin. He lives in the SAME town! HAHAHAH! (Rolls eyes)-I PROMISE to try and stay clear of miss crazy-pants! LOL!

The job itself-it's good. I think lots has to do with my willingness and abilty to completely immerse myself like I used to. I really was a workaholic-and now I have a husband and a real life!! It was one thing to be 400 lbs and be stuffed in a cubical and feel VERY happy that I had some good purpse.

I am not that same girl anymore. Also-part of it had to do with Mum in law getting very ill. We had to go and take her out of her home and bring here here for awhile. She is now going back and forth between her home and ours and she needs care still.

I had to make a few tough decisions-but I really do think in the end-it's the best thing. I would REALLY love to go to school!! I am sure it will be costly-but I could make a start. I am very interested in Health and Social-I do love working with folks indeed.

Who knows!?

Hope you are well and happy!!

Thanks, yes. Revelling in grandchild number 2!

Busy beyond belief. Still working one day a week. Doing an OU degree. Just been elected Chair of HomeStart - thought that just meant chairing meetings but turns out it basically means to co-ordinate and run the Board of Trustees and do things like organising staff appointments, interviewing staff, supervising sub-committees, being the spokesperson etc.

Also daughter with 2 children, bad back and husband working 12 hours a day has decided to move house. Guess who spent last week in Wales with paint brush and scrubbing brush?

I didn't want a quiet retirement but may have gone too far the other way!

Kate!! YOU need a holiday young lady!! LOL!!

You sound to be having a FABULOUS time. It sounds like the folks who have asked you to grace them know your talents well!!! And you retire? As if!!!

Sorry to hear about your daughter's back! That is always painful and awful, but bless you for being there to save the day! Scrub brush in hand! You really DO need a "kate time only getaway"!!

Congrats on all the wonderful things in your life!!! TWO grandbabies!!! Lovely and wonderful!!

Enjoy Alaska, and the part-time working!  It's better to tighten the purse strings than be miserable, the only problem that I can see is the regular trips to see the little one.  Enjoy!!

Wow, you do have a lot going on - sounds like your news of becoming a grandmother is just that bit of fabulous news you could really use right now. You will be one hell of a glamorous granny
I really hope the rest works out for you, such a shame the job didn't turn out amazing - still, it may well be the chance to change directions like you said. Maybe fate is playing a hand.

Aw, thanks Binty! You know-it really is so nice to get other's input on these sorts of times in our lives. I needed that fabulous perspective of yours!!

Making more room/time/space to allow directions to change!!  I like it!!!

Hope all is going well for you!! Are you keeping very busy?

Hugs,

I'm in such a funny old place right now.  I always have the school holidays away from childminding, I like to spend that time on my kids and giving them a bit of focus - so I've had a lovely 6 weeks, even the twins bickering hasn't put me off.  However, now the kids are back to school - including my youngest, who starts on Monday.

So here's the thing - after 10 years, my babies don't need me at home anymore, and no its not like empty nest syndrome, but I feel a little lost. I was previously an accountant, but without formal qualifications it will be really hard to get back to that, and I don't even know if I want to.  So I'm probably gonna look for some part-time work - but who knows what or how that will work.

My head should be buzzing right now - but its more, kinda vacant LOL, I'm enjoying the losing weight - and I will definately have more confidence in an interview now.  All I need is a bit of luck and some good decisions.

Cor, ramble ramble ramble - got that off my chest LOL
