Hi, cousins;  I was just reading the Guardian.uk.co and was fascinated by a recipe for "Fairy Cakes".  They sound enchanting (!) but at the end of the article, the writer called for "hundreds and thousands".

What the heck??  Please give me a hint as to what these are??!

Thanks,

The little brightly multi-coloured sugar sprinkles that you sometimes see on ice cream or cakes - we had them last night on a banana split

A banana split?!  Boy, I feel a carb coma coming on, not to mention dumping big time, just thinking about it!

I never used to care for splits, but put me in close proximity to Rocky Road ice cream and "Katie, bar the door"!  (That's hillbilly American for "Watch out for the disaster!")

Glad to say I don't get that same kick anymore about junque food.  Sure makes life simpler.

By we - I mean the kids and dh, they looked fabulous, but I have to say I don't have a sweet tooth, and ice cream is far too cold for me (yeah I know, dumb huh) - I had .......... green thai chicken curry, and was not jealous one little bit =)

can be either round like these or in little strands. Fairy cakes are not like cup cakes; not the thick glaze. icing is just made with icing sugar and water.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Yes, they do sound lovely; I've never cared for the thick frosting on cakes, etc., and usually removed it so I could eat the cake with a minimum of frosting on it.

So those little sugar beads are the rascals in the recipe!  We call them "sprinkles" here.

Thank you ladies!

I'll weigh tomorrow, have lost only 3 pounds in the last 6 weeks but I'm still losing inches.  About to discuss coming off another blood pressure tablet.  Will have to break my new bad habit of eating and drinking at the same time.

Have just been to our annual village motorcycle show and fun day.  There are still people in the village who don't recognise me because I look so different.  Will probably put up a new avatar tomorrow.  Life is so good.

How are you keeping?

Well, it's summer in Santa Cruz!  That's about as good as it gets!

About six weeks ago I called into a local radio station (KPIG.com--check it out!) and I was caller #5;  for my pains I was awarded two free tickets to see Sir Paul at a concert in SF at the AT&T Park;  tonight!!!  So in about 4 hours I'll be driving up the Peninsula to the ballpark and spend the evening rocking with Paul McCartney!!  Should be a great evening.

I'll keep you posted on how it turns out.

By the way, don't sweat the slow weight loss--you know that muscle will take up less space in your body so you'll lose inches, right?!  Sounds like you're doing great.  And yeah, about eating and drinking at the same time: a definite no-no!!

And it's really great that you're no longer supporting Big Pharma with your monthly contributions, and due to make even fewer!  Really fab!

Keep on rockin'!
