Is anyone anywhere near me?

I live in West Berkshire.

And  am fed up with not having anyone I actually know who has had wls! ANY wls!  I did have a few band friends at first and we used to meet in London. But one emigrated to the US, one produced a baby and dropped out of sight and the other had a lot of domestic issues (illness in her partners family) and more or less vanished!

A colleague at work, one of the very few who know I am banded, is just starting the band process. And I will support her all I can. But i would so love to meet up with someone who can chat about post-wls life! I feel that I have been on my own for 4 years (4 years exactly today!).

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I'm kinda near-ish, Northants, we sort of half spoke before about meeting up, but I didn't want to pu**** to fast or too much cos I thought you have given years of support to all us newbies and that probably feels like a bit of a weight on your shoulders sometimes.

Although I'm still in the honeymoon period, I am well and truly settled in this whole wls thing, and would love to meet up and share experiences, rather than just bombard someone with insecurities and questions.  So lets do it - lets meet up it would be lovely to have a proper chat, instead of a disjointed chat room talk.

You're on! Just looked at a map and Oxfordshire is between us and so good place to meet?? Or is London easier?

BUT - my daughter is due to give birth on the 28th June and we are required to look after her (C section) and her toddler! So if she doesn't go into labour early, taht will be up to the second week fo August. And my son is due home from NZ (not seen him for a year) at the beginning of June!!

So despite my thread, life is probably too full for the next two months or so!

You are a child minder, right?  So presumably it is only weekends you are free?

By the way, did you claim for your purse?

I'm up for planning for the future, Oxfordshire sounds perfect - I love it there, but have only been once.  I am a childminder,  but only in term time, so as long as I can find childcare (hubby day off or my darling mum) I can make it at weekends and school hols too.  I need a break from the kids from time to time. So in actual fact mid - late august would be great. we could visit somewhere lovely.

I never did claim for the purse, I spoke to the insurance company, and it turns out I have £100 excess, so even with bumping up the contents there would've been very little gain.  Somehow we managed to put it behind us, and amazingly didn't suffer too much trying to make up the shortfall over the month (not quite sure how, because money is tight)

I'll look forward to seeing you, and maybe by then we can see if anyone else responds, who we can rope in.

Thats fabulous. I hope everything goes well for your daughter, and have a wonderful time with your son, it will be so good to see him after all this time.
